A lovely shot of a colorful bird, Michael. You were lucky to get him perched on this mossy branch. I would crop a tiny bit from the right side, the bright area near the top corner tends to draw my eye out if the image. |

Well done, Leslie. It is very difficult to get the wings of a hummingbird sharp except with a powerful multi-flash setup. Try doing some selective sharpening in a plug-in such as Topaz, masking out the bird so it doesn't get overdone. |

Both shots are great, Mike. Try using a plugin like Topaz Sharpen AI on the first image, this should bring it up better. It was a difficult shot considering the motion involved. |

I agree with Tom, the blue color cast doesn't seem natural. I also agree with Mike that it's a bit tight, needs some more space in front for him to move into. Perhaps the tools in the new Photoshop version can accomplish this. |

Thanks everyone for your comments. I captured this bird during an outing to a raptor rehabilitation facility in southern Ontario. Checking on Wikipedia, I notice this species is largely native to Africa. I don't know how this individual came to this continent. I do prefer my plain background, the composite background would not do in a nature competition, besides there is a branch of the tree emanating from the falcon's beak. |

Well done Gabriele, especially when shooting from a boat. As Michael says, Topaz (or another plugin) might be able to sharpen it. I would use content aware or the new Photoshop fill to add a little space at the top of the image and create a bit more space above the right wing. |

A terrific nature story, Tom, I can see that this was a great struggle for the heron to land this catch. As mentioned, I hope the snake wasn't venomous or else both will be victims. |

Well done, Max. I cannot add anything to what others have said about this image. It takes me back to the olden days. |

Thanks everyuone for your comments. Jane, your increase in contrast looks good on the barn, but it makes the foreground tree and grass seem overdone. I agree Rick that I could bring the color temperature down a bit. |

Well done Bill, your HDR treatment really brings out the detail and color in this scene. I agree that the red on the right could be toned down a bit, but the green is OK with me. I have followed reports on this building on the internet and on TV, and it looks great that things are being done to restore it to its former greatness. |

A pleasant, pastoral scene. I agree with Rick that this image would be improved by tone mapping in HDR software, hopefully would bring out some detail in the cattle which are almost silhouettes at present. |

Sorry Brad, but I feel the scene needs to be lightened somewhat so we can see the detail in the mountains as we4ll as the foreground trees. I like Max's version better but would still lighten it a little more. This should be possible given you bracketed 5 images here, perhaps better with an application like Nik or Aurora HDR. |
