Sean, Very interesting image. I agree with Neil, I find the white a bit distracting . I do like the composition and the colors

Margret, Thank you
I sorta did and sorta didn't use a tripod ( sound like a politician now)
I have a clamp that will clamp onto the car. It has a tripod ball head on it. I attached it to the care, turned the engine off then took the shoot. It was very cold and i needed the wind break and protection of the car.
I do own a tripod and I do use it

Linda, I think I'm going to complicate things. I very much like the original image. I think both cowboys and the small crop of trees add to the image. For me it adds to the story and creates a better sense of place. I'd very much like to see the original image with the crop that Stephan suggests. I believe the rule of thirds helps the image here.
Of course it your call and ether way its a strong image.

Beverly, It looks sharp to me. I wonder if it's our computer. I find a lot to like about the image. The composition, the purple on the green and the soft lighting.
Well done

Stephen, I apologize for taking so long to answer your question.
There are a number of light sources in the image to the right and to the left. This tree is at the bottom of a slight hill A road circles around te hill and another comes up from the left of the tree to the top of the hill. There are street lamps scattered around.

Bill, plus something happens to the colors. I'm not sure what it is or how to describe it I always find them interesting and worth photographing.
Makes me wish I knew more about color and color theory.
Happy Holidays

Bev, Yes it is very sharp and detailed. Nicely captured . I also like the colors especially around the eye and the "beard or bib" what ever that thing is on a lizard. Not sure what the small streak is on the "shoulder" facing us. Don't know enough about photoshop to suggest anything but maybe it can be addressed

Hello Hattie, Nice capture. I really like the lighting it allows the jacket and lettering really pops! The green scattered around the image helps with that as well.
nicely seen

Bill looking at your image you've got me trying to place it. I have family down in Ft Lauderdale so I'm down there often. Next time I'll have to eat here.
Typically I associate the area with a great deal of sunlight but I like how the cloudy day changes to feel of the colors
Nicely seen and captured

Colin, Cool image Colin, I like the color match of the tile and his shoes. I also like how you capture one foot moving while the other is standing still.
When I shot images like this I typically try to get separation between the feet but this image causes me to look a bit closer
