I looked at this again today 8 May, VE day 75 years on, and it reminded me to hang out the flag and remember all those who perished in WW2. |

Although the touch of blue in the original is delightful, this image certainly cried out to be presented as a Monochrome, it is much more, to my eye, effective as such. The backlighting brought out the little hairs(?),the nature lovers will take me to task) on the plant so effectively. Well done Mark. |

Phil I Iike his facial expression and the fact that he is carrying a lacrosse stick tells us what we is suspect he is so cheerful about--his team has won, but in order to tell a story, which is what this images needs, we need more information in it. I'm grasping at straws, but perhaps the scoreboard behind him--or some such. |

Shall I be naughty and say the butterfly size depends on how much it has to cover!
Once again Nick you are so clever and your imagination continues to give us all a laugh |

I've taken many of this type of image, and never has any one turned out this well. It is superb even the composition of a triangle adds to its strength. Well done Rick. |

I have to disagree about the over sharpening--and I know I am in the minority here. As I mentioned the distinct lines of the rail and the walk reach out to me--I love it! |

Pete this is a composition that I have seen many times--a path leading???? Having said that the textures you were able to bring out make it almost 3D and I want to reach out and touch the handrail and feel the path beneath my feet. So...jolly good job, you made something out of the mundane. |

Stephen they are all good and certainly eligible for a Nature comp. Although you ask for discussion on them (which I am sure will be forthcoming) I think perhaps you've mistaken the point of DD.
In the guidelines it is asked:
These groups are for learning. This is not a contest, but rather a sharing of images, techniques, and personal reactions. The intent of our groups is to show the work that we would sincerely like to have an opinion on, such as what looks good and what we could do to improve it. Submit images that look good to you to find out what other people could suggest to make it better! Our purpose here is "What does this image need and how can I improve it."
You have submitted 3 superb images, they are so good I can't see any improvement on any of them but I will say Original 2 with the wingspread is my favourite since it shows action adding interest to the image rather than the portrait pose of the other two.

The posterisation is interesting but seeing this old and beloved steam engine I would have preferred to have it more clearly shown |

Gosh I am impressed--so much work--but what an end result. Just a small critique Georgianne The space under his chin on the RH side and the back of his shirt collar and shoulder need a little attention, but altogether a superb image. And thanks for the detailed steps, more of us could subscribe to this. |

A good idea Bev but still not quite right. what would be wrong with taking out the window altogether? Cloning in the brown adjacent to it? But I must say the lighting on the man's face, his expression is excellent. Well done! |

Empty indeed--as have been most beaches in the US.Nice colours here but I would warn against cutting an image in half, judges are most likely to fault an image that is 50/50 Since the FG is more interesting I would tend to crop the sky. |

Jean the subject here is the bee which unfortunately is out of focus; the composition is such that one's eye wanders over the image. You most have forgotten that an explanation of the image is necessary. I would ask that you read the guidelines that you will see at the top of this page so that your future images will be as Digital Dialogue requires. |
