5 Apr 19 Comment The hair blowing out and the lighting on it is a great feature, it brings the model out of the ordinary. Although it is not unnatural I might've been tempted to 'iron out' the wrinkles in her neck. Great job! Apr 4th
5 Apr 19 Comment No better place than Butterfly World Nick. I always look forward to going there, the main prob is how to get something different than one did before. It's a great composition but although the subject is sharp I would like to have seen the flower a little sharper and the pale green BG, top left, could be darkened a bit. . Nice frame! Apr 4th
5 Apr 19 Comment Welcome to no.5 Terri. I like the composition of the larger bird above the others. I see a faint blue line coming in above his R wing and another on his neck about the L wing. A good idea to enlarge the canvas. 15000 images! -it must have been a great trip. Apr 4th
5 Apr 19 Comment You did an marvellous job of bringing the subject to 'light' and eliminating the BG nuisance. The two faces are excellent, the tattoo artists's concentration and the man looking away as if to ignore that which must be painful. To my mind Pete, there is only one thing to change and that would be to get rid of the words 'keep going' it continually draws my eye away from the action and all of the rest of this excellent image. Good work! Apr 4th
5 Apr 19 Comment The mystery of such a small part of his face is intriguing without the 'before' image I would have thought him to be in a forest of green leaves. I'm not sure that the other panel of the bus window adds to the image. Showing only one eye contributes to the mystique. As with most of your images this tends to tell a story or encourage one to think beyond it. Nicely done. David! Apr 4th
5 Apr 19 Comment I also meant to add info on shadow border, there are prob. many ways to do this but mine is:Open image>copy layer> fill w white or desired BG colour move under orig layer > click on orig layer>control T, hold option key to keep borders same size>drag image inwards to desired size. Layer style> drop shadow > move distance, spread & size to your choice. Apr 1st
5 Apr 19 Reply You are right about the beard Pete, structure is a great tool but I notice it is often easily overdone Apr 1st

9 Apr 19 Comment Thanks Jesse, I rather liked the way the filter brought the bottom parts of the image, I think it gave it more balance--actually you can only see it when it is clicked on for enlarge. Apr 13th
9 Apr 19 Comment A fun image John but I can't see a great deal of change. The boy on the L is still a bit OOF. I've used Topaz Sharpen A1 and I don't see much of a diff.

Hey! Jesse where is HDR going? Did you know we have two DD groups just HDR? Number 46 an 44, and I have an opening in one of them in case anyone is interested, check them out they do great work..

9 Apr 19 Comment I use to work often with Mylar, it was fun before all the various filters came about. Apr 13th
9 Apr 19 Comment Jesse the water lily is indeed a lovely flower. I have been to Mounts many times and have never seen these. Although I enjoy the bluish cast I suspect the flower might be white. I played with Topaz clarity filter a little and too brought out some texture in the petals and added a small border. Hope you don't mind my taking these liberties-- just another way of looking at it. 14 Apr 19 Comment This is one of more interesting shots I have seen of balloons. It defies the mundane. Good work Darcy. Apr 15th
14 Apr 19 Comment An excellent composition Greg. The RH bike leading in a triangle to the lighthouse. It couldn't have been better had it been posed--and the colours are superb. Some might suggest lightening the sky but to me the darkness accentuates the brighter colours. Well done! Apr 15th

18 Apr 19 Reply Tom I like the brick BG, the pinkish one blends in a big too much with the male dog's head. I really think this image is just great, enough make anyone laugh Apr 8th
18 Apr 19 Comment This made me laugh out loud--which of course it is supposed to do. So clever! you did well, but the BG doesn't add much, if it wasn't broken into two different designs it might not be so bad. Apr 7th
18 Apr 19 Comment This is so lovely, was it in the New Forest? Unlike Mark I rather like the position of the goldfinch Apr 7th
18 Apr 19 Comment Great work Ian, and the border makes it perfect. Apr 7th
18 Apr 19 Comment A poignant reminder of terrible times. Yes texture is needed but was it there in the first place? A long way to come Andrew to reshoot! Apr 7th
18 Apr 19 Comment Very clever Mark but I would prefer the four corners to be eliminated, it doesn't add but the takes away from the main subject. Apr 7th

38 Apr 19 Comment A marvellous facial expression Art--up to your usual standard and the colours are so vivid, but I don't think the grass is that green in P B county! Nevertheless one may take liberties with our images. Well done! Apr 6th

40 Apr 19 Comment I don't think the crane is obtrusive Alison, it says what the image is about.
Good work!

Since you are new to PSA I would strongly recommend that you look into Jon Fishback's course "Image Evaluation" it is free to PSA members and you can find info on it at https://psa-photo.org/index.php?sn-education

I have no hesitation in directing your attention to this course, to all to whom I have recommended this I have heard nothing but rave reviews and appreciation to those who conduct it.
