She is lovely and a good capture. My additions here are rough, so please don't be offended. I cropped the image to eliminate that which seems unnecessary. The BG is roughly done but I am sure you get my idea. I added a low opacity catch light twinkle to her eyes |

Oh! this poor girl, imagine what her skin will look like when she gets older and her skin wrinkles! Tattooing one's skins particularly, the lovely flawless skin that this girl has is beyond my comprehension So...off my soap box.. that is nothing to do with critiquing the image! The setup is great Oliver--next to the picture of a tattoo. I would like to see the text removed and the bright parts on the RH side of the image. Her pink bracelet does rather draw my eye but removing it could be a difficult job. I don't do portraits but from what I read the hand so placed is not altogether in the best posture overall--it becomes a too dominant part of the pose. Having said all that, it is a good image and I think with some adjustments it would do well in competition. |

What a nice thing to do and I can imagine how pleased the aunt must have been with your work. Excellent image Phil but as Oliver suggests the crop at the top is necessary. Other than that it is an image that should do very well in competition. Hope to see more of the 500 shots |

Once again you have turned the mundane into a work of art. How you come up each month with this type of work is marvellous. I cannot add more David other than to agree with both Oliver and Rick re the shoes--but a small matter.
Thank you for being a part of no. 5 and showing us what can be done to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. |

Bev this is a lovely image. Made much better by the change to monochrome. Agreed that the blurs on the cape need to be removed and I would also add the two white parts at the bottom since I see no relevance in the addition of them. You might try the Nik Darken/Lighten Centre filter to emphasise her face
I am sure it will do well at CSCC |

Betty I have been using Acs Flexible Frames for a number of years I tried searching for it online just now and it comes as this link above. I think they are still free
I am taking advantage of your space for a message for all of no.54: You are such an elite group that I am careful who I add since I don't want to diminish the quality of the group's work, but we do need to fill the vacancies here, so if you know anyone of your talent....?

Gerhardt I had to look up 'pointillist' and found it to be
"a late 19th-century style of painting in which a picture is constructed from dots of pure color that blend, at a distance, into recognizable shapes and various color tones. Pointillism developed out of impressionism and its best-known exponent is the French painter Georges Seurat". |

Oh what an automobile! Love what you did with the BG and the angle the car was taken. Only negative comment (picky picky) I can make is that this elegant beauty deserves a sleek border; I am curious as to why you chose this, unless it is to represent something like an old photo pulled out of a drawer and therefore a bit crumpled--in which case it fits.
Well done Stan! |
