5 Jun 18 Reply Dick I think you did this just right filling the bottom LH area, flipping the image and most partic. I do like the extra emphasis from NIK on the raindrops Jun 18th
5 Jun 18 Reply Renee this is actually the original, (see my reply to Oliver). I merely put the other two images (top R) so that the members could see how beautifully he posed and the other shot was just info on the peacock. I'm not clever enough to twist his head from the full display--but I bet there are some in DD that could do it! Jun 14th
5 Jun 18 Comment Methinks it was Nick removed it--not the model! But all in good taste. Jun 10th
5 Jun 18 Comment I got this from Nick today:

Here is a revised version of my June image. I had the model remove her bikini bottom!

5 Jun 18 Comment Great shot Phil , this type of image does exceedingly well in PJ. I do agree with Oliver that the be RH side is better cropped. I can see the point of leaving the net alone and it would be very understandable to lacrosse players but I think to the photographic eye it jars. Nevertheless I would leave it in as a point of exactness, adding to the storytelling of the image. Jun 7th
5 Jun 18 Reply you added the glint to the puppies R eye. I neglected to say his colouring is just lovely, but above his L eye there is a small something I would get rid of Jun 3rd
5 Jun 18 Reply No, I didn't create the head shot from the original, I just wanted to include the full display so that you could see how beautiful he was. Jun 3rd
5 Jun 18 Comment You do these merges so well Nick. I think the girl should somehow be immersed even further into the water, maybe a few bubbles around her waist even. For those of us who don't do these type of images well (me). a few words of 'how to' would help. Jun 3rd
5 Jun 18 Comment Oliver is spot on with his opinion on tulips--the most interesting flower to photograph in all phases its flowering. I have to disagree with Oliver's desaturating the BG to more emphasis the yellow flower, to my eye it does make it too 'heavy' --garish is a good word for it Oliver.

I had the pleasure of visiting the tulip festival in Holland MI but if one can, the tulip festival in Europe's Holland is an unforgettable slight.

5 Jun 18 Comment This is an instance of having one's camera always handy--but perhaps with smart phones that is no longer the norm.

A practiced eye to capture this Oliver, it tells a good story--great for PJ! I like the addition of the dirt on the window (or the sign). Just for experiment I might have removed the hairs from the pup's L eye and added a glint, but the image is good as is.

9 Jun 18 Comment A lovely flower and the cup does make it unique. You did a fine job of separating it from the mish-mash in the rear. I would go a step farther and make that reddish part, at the top L, similar to area of the top R. I might also have added a one or two pixel stroke since the image tends to fade into our black BG. 24 Jun 18 Comment Kim this a lovely scene and the fog adds atmosphere to it. But the first thing I noticed I that it needs to be slightly straightened. I take it you use Photoshop and this your mother is the seasoned photographer perhaps she could guide you through the process. If not anyone one of our DD is such a minor adjustment. Reading your bio I see that members will help you. Some may disagree but the tree on the L is so heavy that in my eye it takes away from the delicacy of the scene. I also cropped the top so the image is not cut in half and to bring more emphasis on the beautiful yellow flowers.
Regarding layers there is so much info online. One I would recommend is:

27 Jun 18 Comment A excellent job of separating him from the busy BG. Like Oliver I would prefer to see a frame around this portrait to separate it from our black BG. One method is, in
Photoshop, is to go to Edit/Stroke, select the colour and opt for 1 or 2 pixels.

38 Jun 18 Reply Stephen, it is most interesting that you shared this image with us. I can just hear our judges dismiss this with the comment "the light pole is dead centre and the man on the R is cut off" The June issue of the PSA Journal had a very good article, well worth reading, written by one of our DD members, Brian Swinyard, group no 21, 'What do judges know?' Jun 23rd
38 Jun 18 Comment Art yours reminded of this image (also in France), that I have been looking for this ever since I saw yours Finally found it--my filing system is not of the best! Jun 23rd
38 Jun 18 Comment Congrats Art. This image one of ten chosen to represent our CC in an art gallery in Florida. After it was selected I heard some remarks about it being out of focus, so I took the liberty of giving your explanation of its being shot through a rainy window on a bus. Jun 13th

41 Jun 18 Reply Thank Lisa Jun 21st
41 Jun 18 Comment Lisa, this is such fun to do and your imagination that took you here from a bicycle wheel is marvellous.
I would ask you however to broaden your "how I did it" Although your fellow members of no. 41 may be well aware of polar coordinates we have many members who scroll through the various groups (and comment), who would be puzzled by the term.
If you will take a look at my group http://psadigital.org/group05/ and click on 'select another round' and scroll to January 2017 and look at my image you will see what is meant., and notice the comment from someone in another group who had no idea.
DD it's all about sharing.

48 Jun 18 Comment Hildi, although your work in abstracts is interesting I don't think it is varied enough to warrant posting 5 consecutive months. From reading your bio you have a great deal of talent and I think sharing it with your fellow no.48 members would be beneficial, both to them and to you. It could be difficult for them to comment on images that are so alike and your 'how I did it" is very minimal
I would also like to remind you of the guidelines at top of this page , the paragraph thst reads: "image descriptions of how I did it" Many groups put in a before and after images as well for comparison
Look forward to seeing your July image

54 Jun 18 Reply Thanks so much Phillipa. I appreciate your 'busyness' and good luck with the Australian PS but please don't give up on us you are such a valuable member to DD. My friend Mark Southard is going to teach a class on the IPhone at the PSA conference in Salt Lake City in September and I am going to direct him to your 'How I did it" I am sure he will enjoy it, Jun 13th
54 Jun 18 Comment Lovely image Phillippa, I am sure your fellow members know, or can guess at the steps for this but for those of us not so clever with composites, and for the members from other groups who scroll through groups other than their own, more detail would help--as in the May image. Thanks. Jun 12th

76 Jun 18 Comment Tyler I just read your bio and it is a pleasure to have a 17-year old in our midst. Your grandfather Larry (as you say, a fine photographer-and Dorothy too) admins two groups, nos. 14 and 33 and has been doing this dedicated job for many years. Welcome Tyler this is indeed a good place to learn Jun 14th

76 Jun 18 Reply Right Cyndy one doesn't see it that way before submission but it is how it appears on our site. I think sometime ago we voted on grey but it didn't go over, most preferred the black. Jun 5th
76 Jun 18 Reply Cyndy I also tried a red border but it seemed to take away from the image so I settled for the green Jun 5th
76 Jun 18 Comment Beautifully sharp Cyndy and the lighting is as you wished it. I would like to see a border around this image, a very subtle one or two pixel stroke would suffice; because of our black BG one doesn't know where the image stops, Jun 5th
76 Jun 18 Comment This is a very good panorama image Tyler and I can't offer any advice on its improvement; this type of image is certainly allowed in the general category. However, a little more explanation of how it was done is preferred and perhaps the tech details could be included, but not mandatory. At the top of this page you will see "guidelines" Please read them, they are most essential to give and get the most out of Digital Dialogue. Jun 2nd
