I can attest to this being a good judging programme. Why not 'advertise' it in the Journal Nick? I am sure that clubs would contribute a voluntary amount to Matt for all his work. |

Very interesting, but you chose well to show the headlights they seem less intrusive on the sky. |

There is perhaps a bit over the top in the laundry texture but I like what you did with the BG |

How right you are re the 'I don't like cats' remark'.I have heard much of this and unquestionably three judges are to be preferred but judges are hard to get in some areas. |

How did it do in CC competition? I've taken some of these but never any I particularly liked, but I can see the advantage of being on top of a double decker bus. The dreariness of the rain adds to the sepia tones and your added fog enhances the image. Fine work. |

Phil, you caught the streak cross the sky positioned so well between the trees. What a stunning array of stars. I do think Oliver's idea of redoing the headlight glare is beneficial to the image. Other than that I can't see anything I would do to otherwise improve this image, it is glorious. |

Reading Oliver's comment and looking at your original it is plain to see why the man's lower legs are not seen. I do like the idea of lightening the bottom. although this seems to have come out with a blur. All this sounds as though I am critiquing Oliver's image the than yours David, so back up here! Once again you have isolated the subject to make the the ordinary distinctive. I particularly like the placement of the hands this gives me the feeling of his diligence to his job. Excellent work David. Inicdentally, I have to wonder about the twists of laundry and wonder how all the wrinkles will come out! |

Last night I entered this in club comp. first by using a very low opacity white brush to reduce the ruddiness of his cheeks which made it much better. It earned the lowest score, a 6, comparable to a DQ --no text allowed! |

I like this image and what you have done with it but, and perhaps this doesn't appear that way to you, but I feel as though the image is tilting to the right and falling downriver. I opened the image and used transform on it but then I noticed that the tall structure with the beam was leaning to the left, so I didn't accomplish anything! The Topaz Glow gives the image a delightful magical effect. And BTW what is a distraction removal action? |

I love this image and is reminiscent of summers in England when we Brits soak up the sunshine as much as we can. I find however that it doesn't quite fit the Creative criteria, adding a filter or two is good but looking at December's images of Shirley, Cindy, and Nellie where they show the originals and the combination of different images to produce something that their minds envisioned is the substance of Creative. I look forward to seeing your images in the New Year following the guidelines of Creative as spelled out in our rules:
CREATIVE . This section is not for beginners but is for those
whose images are dedicated to altered reality and who have
longtime experience in Adobe Photoshop---in other words
designed for the crème de la crème of digital imaging. These
members are committed to altering the image so that it departs
from the reality of the original photograph. A camera or other light
gathering device could never solely capture such images as they
appear in the altered image.

Art, the sharpness of the front greyhound and the fading into a blur of the other two makes this most effective--great shot! |
