Thanks Guy, yes it is fun.I reciprocated by taking a look at your no.4--you do such marvellous work, and being an old Folkestone girl am quite familiar with Bexhill; how I do miss those Channel breezes, the Florida coast is certainly warm but.....! |

David I frequently recommend your images and style to others. This month, my friend Marie Altenburg, group 24

has her interpretation of your method.

Good advertisement for a warm night. Great colours John, my one recommendation would be when shooting this type of image is to get down on a level with it |

Thanks for the explanation Ken, the beams of course are most familiar but I have never heard the termed so. |

I like the way the image BG fades into a cloud. Is it my eyes or does the glass tilt somewhat to the L? Super image Nick but, picky picky, I would like to have seen the glass less full. Great imagination! |

You did an excellent job here emphasising the shadows. Some of the terminology you use is not within my comprehension. I have never heard the of 'God beams' or 'clay pans' Nevertheless I don't find it at all overdramatised, you produced a beautiful image from a very mundane shot. Well done! |

David once again you have then an ordinary image and made it noteworthy. It does indeed have an ethereal feeling, but with it it has lost part of the image so that the couple, the lady particularly, seems to be sitting on air. I think the bench could have been brought out a bit more and also her right leg. I do see a horizontal line in the BG (running into his cap) here I would like to see a clear separation of the BG, to my eye it flows throughout. |

I am going to try the RH image in CC next week and see how it scores. Thanks for your insight.
"... if you had an idea of what you wanted before you started..."No, I had no idea of the actual end result other than seeing Marti's December image. |

Thanks Mike and good to know the good old red boxes have not completely disappeared but certainly their use must be minimal these days with everyone with a mobile attached to their hand! |

Nice job, dear friend Joe and a unique presentation. I would like to see the building straightened a little more. I don't see any 'white and pinkish halo around the edges'. May I suggest that you submit images a little larger. When I click on this it remains rather small, as do your other images in past months. Am I correct in this Marti? |

When I looked this image I saw it almost as 3D, particularly the sky and the trees in the BG. This is a stunning image John, well done! |

This looks like a candidate for your Polar Coordinates method. I copied your December technique and used it for my January group. Thanks Marti you are such a good teacher.

I might have cropped it a little tighter to get rid of the chair in the FG, but then would have lost the huge banana which is a fun thing in the image. Having said that you did a good job Marie of copying Davids technique. |

Marge I think your horse image is great. It would have been nice had they been a little more separated, but one has to do with one what finds. I like Art's suggestion to flip the image, the horse's head being lower and on the left leads one right into the image.Too, I think the sky, as suggested, could be cropped off.
I would ask that you, as well as the other group members, not dwell too much on the camera settings, but more on the circumstances surrounding the image having been taken and the added, if any, post processing to complete the image. |

Nicely done Carol--the blue is meaningful to the team.
I would like to call your group's attention to the attached image. It was the work of Carolyn Schlueter who took First Place at Framations “Beyond The Lens XI” with ‘Mysterious!' The show will be hanging through the first part of March, so if you’re in the downtown St. Charles area, please stop by Framations Art Gallery at 218 North Main Street.
And wonderful news her health is getting better each day. God Bless her |

I did try a slower motion blur but it seemed better at this one, but it is good to experiment. |

One usually see bird images in horizontal form but the vertical here suits the shot perfectly I might have cropped a little off the top to bring the bird into more of a 'thirds' position. |

Stu-- a great image. I cropped bit off the back and the bottom and for a variety added a sky from files. I feel when you have movement in an image the motion blur tool aids the perception of speed. This is by no means perfected it takes more work then I can give it time, but to give you an idea.... |

It was such a pleasure this week to have Brad as a speaker for our Chapter mtg. Although HDR was not the topic of his lecture, he did elaborate and all thought 'what he doesn't know about HDR isn't worth knowing' Good job Brad! |

You did an excellent job of bringing this image into HDR. Maybe it could stand a little bit of cropping in the foreground, up to the first dark patch on the LH side. I would like to have seen the original of this, it is not too late to send it to Cora. The before and after images tend to give us more of an isight into what was accomplished. Beautiful work! |
