Great fix Walter. It looked good in the beginning but now with the "uncluttered" background it looks even better!

I can't see any way to improve this photo. The lightning is the star of this pic but you got great depth of field too. Very nice photo. I do like the hill on the left in the original and I would have not cropped it out. I think it helps lead into the lightning.
I am going to look into that lightning trigger. I live in southwest Florida and we have been called the lightning capital of the world. Our rainy season with frequent thunder and lightning storms is right around the corner and we get some awesome lightning shows and I would love to get some of that awesome beauty on film. Thanks for the info on that.

Good choice on subject. The flowers are pretty and I like the shape of the leaves. I don't know what your intentions were or the circumstances you were shooting under but I would have tried to get closer to the flowers and used a smaller aperture for more depth of field. The rear flower is sharp but the larger one is fuzzy. The background is somewhat distracting and a tighter crop on the right edge would eliminate some of the distractions. A little more highlight reduction might help show more detail in the flower petals. I thing deepening the blue in the flowers would help it pop out more from the background. The stem at left center has two vertical white streaks that are distracting. |

The orchid itself is beautiful and perfectly exposed. I can't see any way to improve it. The only corrections I would make are in the background. I would have removed the stem on the left side, the rock in the upper right and the rock on the edge on the lower right side. Other than that it's a great photo!! |
