Joan, Thanks for your feedback. I added a shadow to the Monk to ground him in the ground some but had trouble imagining adding more light as he would likely be darker in this scene with the suns setting behind him. I tried a version of the background with one sun but ended up liking two suns as it created a little more of a creepy image which looks more like Mother Nature is looking at you. I realize my sensibilities don't align with everyone's. |

Joan, I like what you've done here. It is visually intense. One suggestion, the handling of the inverted right half of the lip has a jagged edge on the lower portion, you might soften that up |

Hazel, I can see how the image can create a disturbing energy and I think that's why I added the monk to balance the tone. |

Robin, Proof it's in the hands of the artist to bring beauty to the audience. This image has a Chagall like feel, nice capture. |

Another classic Nadia image beautifully constructed. My only comment is the bird seems a touch large in this composition. |

Debbie, I like the high key treatment you've rendered here. The choice of a panoramic cropping works well with this image. I prefer this painterly version over the black and white. It has a nice stillness to it and can see it hanging in a gallery with a nice bench in front of it for contemplation. |

Ian, Your technique here certainly enhances the original, I like the lighter halo type effect you've created. I could imagine using this treatment in other settings to create some other compelling images. |

Hazel, I like this experiment and find the combination of blurred flower and static flower compelling. I wonder if you could get a little more punch from the image by playing a little with the color. Making the static flower more colorful or whiter might make the image more intense. |

Kirsti, Thanks for your kind words and suggestion. I have considered working on the halo to better integrate it. |

Alan, You've created another classic surreal image with doorways and portals and a very compelling handling of the violins suggesting they are breathing underwater. Even after removing 2 doors I feel like this may benefit from removing one of the women(with the woman coming up from the portal being the one I would consider removing). |

Maria, My first take was more of a post apocalyptic world. You've created an interesting and mysterious image that defies a perfect story on initial viewing. If I were to explore other options I might choose an alternative subject to enter the amazing landscape you've created. Having fewer of the subjects may allow for a different story to be told. |

Kirsti, My first reaction was, "Beautiful?" I didn't get the idea about aging at all from the final image as there are many bouquets that have flowers that can age differently. I love how you've created such a supportive background. Given the size of the younger tulip my mind constructed a different story where the larger tulip was the mother and it was more of a family portrait. I don't feel strongly about you needing to add shadows to this image but could imagine adding a subtle shadow of the left most flower projected onto the larger flower behind it might suggest depth. I really like this image as it is. |

Peggy, I love your process creating new textures. The composition feels very balanced and the colors are rich and interesting. The contrast between the soft clouds and contrasty waves creates an interesting tension. I wonder if you could enhance this image by adding a small subject to add to the story, although without a subject it does engage the viewer into constructing a story. |

Alan, I'm not clear on whether you like the addition of the moon or not here. I added it to counterbalance the string of birds and to tie the subtle streaks of light towards to the waterfall. |
