Robin, I like how you've mixed together all of these elements to create a story that is rich and allows the viewer to add a story. It's fun seeing you use the same figure in such a different way. |

Nadia, I love the tonal range, and how you've used texture and color to evoke strong moods. This image is very pleasing. I just realized a picture I am working on right now is likely inspired by your images as it is also of a house in which I am working to create a mood through texture and lighting. I really like how you've added believable light coming from the street lamp and the one attached to the building. |

Tom, I love your skillful handling of this image. You've achieved a very satisfying contrast range in this image. Did you use any software outside of photoshop or just work with adjustment layers? |

Ian, An interesting exploration. I recall discovering the polar coordinates filter years ago and having fun distorting many images with it. |

Hazel, This is a nice playful image. I like the black and white handling. The distressed background you made does make it feel older but the guy being in high contrast feels a little too strong to my taste, relative to the background. There is also a white curvilinear line rising above the castle in the upper right corner that is a little distracting and I'd consider cloning it out. |

Peggy, Thanks, both suggestions are enhancements. I thought the look of the bird was locked on the tree, adjusting the angle slightly is more convincing. I also like the more contrasty image. |

Kirsti, Thanks. I didn't research if they are resident birds. I did like how the white color seemed to serve as a visual contrast in the image. |

Maria, Thanks. I ended up leaving the bird a little brighter to balance its small size, emphasizing it as a worthy subject, but I understand the benefits of your suggestion. |

Alan, Nice work. I especially like your handling of the checkerboard surface. The choice to create openings for the cards to disappear is strong and adds to the magical theme. |

Maria, I'll join Kirsti in sharing my admiration for this beautiful image. I love the framing, lighting and the stunning location. One thing I would consider is removing the third dancer whose head is partially obscured and might simplify the image. One other variant I might try, if it were my image, would be to darken the top rather than creating the fog effect, as that would draw the energy back down into the portion of the image where the dancers and amazing light. |

Kirsti, Thanks for sharing your process. I think you've successfully handled the hair, something I find challenging too. All the elements come together nicely. The one area I wonder about is the floating crystals. If you are trying to imply the music is embodied in these orbs I don't know that it fully captures that. I wonder if a motion blur or other lighting effects might convey that message. Whatever you decide it is an intimate image that evokes a strong sense of the moment. |

Peggy, I love the feeling of this image. The motion blurs, hues and lighting all create a rich and soothing image. Given your handling it doesn't feel dangerous to me, more exciting. I like it as it is. |
