Hazel, Thanks for your feedback. It was enjoyable working on the left edge of the image. I'm still struggling with dealing with the edge where the bird is gripping the image. |

Nadia, Thanks for your feedback. I prefer leaving the edges undefined as it is the empty space and tension I was shooting for. If I frame the image it will have an edge. The postcard part was the image the bird is pulling. |

Robin, I really like what you've done with this image. the ICM tree image holds up on its own as a powerful backdrop to your story. The addition of mist adds a magical element as well. Your choice to darken the sky adds an element of framing that is interesting. I wonder if this was dialed back a little if it may feel more balanced. The placement of the main subject feels a little too centered for my taste but I understand the constraints created by the strong vertical tree just to the right of her. The secondary figure adds an interesting depth element and furthers the dream like quality of the image, although she creates an even greater imbalance in the image for me making the image feel more left heavy. I wonder if you cropped some of the right side of the image to rebalance, if that might be more pleasing. |

Nadia, This image is another one that beautifully blends an interesting concept and strong technical execution. The lighting and textures , as always, are masterfully handled. One of my favorites, nothing to add. |

Joan, I love the idea and execution. It's unfortunate the front pig is out of focus as it would have made it an even stronger image. I might go back and work on the details on that pig as the right wing isn't properly attached to the body of the pig and the edges of the pig, particularly around the snout have left over color from where the pig was sampled, which could be gently erased to blend it more naturally. |

Ian, I like what you've done with this experiment. The central portion of the flower takes a dominant role surrounding by the swirling red. The grey partial three leaf clover type piece centrally feels a little distracting given the otherwise pleasing colors and textures you've created here. |

Alan, That sounds like a peaceful place. Nara, in Japan, where the deer was photographed is characterized by a huge area with temples and thousands of deer wandering between the people. Amazingly the deer will bow to people (for treats)! |

Maria, Thanks for your kind words. I hadn't thought of this being an image showing the balancing of the elements, but I do find I become relaxed in the setting of these elements aligning. |

Alan, This is a wonderfully executed image with a great idea. I love how you've created believable streams of images emerging from the instruments. It almost feels like a visual representation of synesthesia. Given how you've chosen to have the images gradually become fully colorful I wonder if you might significantly tone down the color of the instruments, particularly the upright player piano. |

Maria, I really like the magical and ethereal feeling of the image and do find the sweeping upward lines hinting at ascension. The angels create a sense of peace. In your description you don't give much voice to the masked figures. They carry a darker energy for me, maybe projection, but may create a different message from the one you intended. |

Kirsti, This is a very interesting project. I like the conceptual idea behind it. It reminds me a lot of images of the retina (can't help seeing this given my medical background). As such, as it is, I could see other interesting directions to take the egg. Within this framing of the Galaxy, I find the central circular rim at the center of the image a bit distracting as it doesn't fully align with the message of the image, at least for me. If you were to tone down that very thick circle and bring the attention back to the branching cracks it might simplify the message. |

Peggy, You've created a very pleasing tonally rich textural and muted piece that I find incredibly calming. I wonder if you were to create a little more blur or wind effect to integrate some of the grass around the tree like the rest of the grass, if that might integrate the tree as the true subject without any distraction from the eyes being drawn to the sharper grasses at the base of the tree. |
