Tom, Your suggestions make sense given your skill at altering reality without distortion. I agree the topaz filter is a bit gimmicky. I try to keep things as "real" as possible. Since I ventured into fantasy here with the door in the tree, intentionally, I loosened my criteria. |

Nadia, Thanks. I was shooting for something subtle to "justify" the deers glance. |

Robin, Thanks, both have been done as I completely agree. That's one thing that is great about these dialogues. |

Thanks Hazel. After sitting with this image for a couple weeks I agree with, and have removed the windows. I also went back and toned down the green. That was exaggerated by the topaz filter. |

Ian, thanks for your comments. I have been debating whether to remove more of the windows from the trunk. Before I saw your comments I had gone back and mostly removed them. When I initially created the image I liked how the windows mirrored some of the textures on the tree but, after reducing them I think the image is stronger. |

Robin, I do like your original better, it reminds me a little of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. I personally find the image a bit confusing as to the message. There is something a little unsettling about a woman without pants falling from the sky with a crowd of people fully clothed staring up at her. The birds in this image, although filling in the bottom left, don't feel "natural" or tie the theme together better for me. |

Nadia, Another wonderful composition with a strong message. Your handling of the lighting, tone, depth of field and shadow elements all "sell" the image. My only suggestion is to consider removing the cloud and sunlight that show through the clock, unless that was intentional. |

Tom, Another visually powerful image with perfect restraint. I agree with Ian's suggestion. I'd love to hear how you added the sunlight as it has been masterfully rendered. |

Joan, I love how you've leaned into imbalance, creating a beautifully balanced image. Your choice of a checkerboard surface enhances the surreal landscape and nicely integrates the people, cows, trees and the tower, creating a perfect scaffolding for the unsettling distorted landscape. |

Ian, I agree with Angela, my first reaction was admiration of how the colors brought attention to the faces, well done. |

Alan, It seems you and Peggy are communicating a similar message. Subtle is often better (less is more!), Thanks. |

Maria, Thanks for your comments. I forgot to share the original image of the waterfall. The handling you see added quite a bit of contrast and depth compared with the much softer and flatter original. I think if I pushed it more it would look even more unnatural. |

In my opinion the game is over in trying to sort out AI or not. Even if we can tease it out now, its growth trajectory will outpace our capacity to keep ahead of its subtlety. I believe the focus needs to be on using wisely. The sad thing is all tools, since the beginning of mankind have been weaponized |

Alan, You've done a great job "drawing" the canvas. I noticed that as a really nice element on first viewing. I have to admit I didn't understand the story of the painter and the flower until after reading your explanation. The title also doesn't convey clues to the true message you are attempting to convey. If there was some way to add some elements of the flowers into the painting to hint at the AI's algorithmic rendering of the still life, that might create the powerful message you are trying to convey. |

Maria, I like how the swirl effect you've created is iterated in the movement of the Peacock's neck. The momentum of the flowers is captivating. I do find the circular opening you've created in the bird feeder a bit distracting as done as the opening at the bottom has a distinct edge whereas the added portal has a fuzzy border. There is also a distracting rock that comes into view through this opening that is mildly distracting. |

Kirsti, It is so interesting you and Peggy have both offered images of bottles as I've been working on a similar theme after reading a book in which the young protagonist tries to catch shooting stars in a jar. Your bottle image is mysterious without heavy handedly telling the meaning, something I like. The simplicity of the elements leave a lot of room for the viewer to interpret the story. |

Peggy, I love your color and process. I do find the dancer image much more integrated and compelling. Before I viewed the alternative version I was struggling with what bothered me about the owl image and it was the lack of integration, i.e. it just doesn't feel complete. |
