Tom, Thanks for sharing your perspective. I am not focused on "competing" and use tools to help carry out the creative process. I think we each have a threshold we consider "cheating". I always use my own images, many people sample images off the web. I get the AI is creating new material and favor doing it myself in most cases. |

Robin, Thank you for your comments. Sorry the camels being partly in the head makes you feel uneasy. I intentionally had them emerging from the head, using the head as a type of portal. With regards to generative fill, I only rely on it when other measures are challenging. If we examine the evolution of photography, we've been "cheating" for years. |

Thanks Hazel. I haven't done much with turquoise in the past but did find this color palette soothing to work with. |

Joan, I hope so too. We still seem to have problems with notifications which makes it hard to know when someone has responded. I have not received any information on any fixes coming on this IT issue yet. |

Ian, Thanks for your feedback. Not sure I fully understand your suggestion about the mask, can you clarify? |

Joan, It's funny. When I first wrote "about the image" I specifically wrote "don't ask me what this image means". I ended up deleting it because I didn't want to make people avoid questioning the meaning. I am a big fan of Magritte, Dali and the whole Surrealist movement. My images are rendered, most of the time, without an idea. I like taping into the unconscious and enjoying the discovery process. I have found over the years people who enjoy conceptual ideas like my work whereas others find the images confusing. |

Bob, Thanks for visiting and your comments. To be honest I just started using generative fill in this selective way. I mostly create the pictures for my enjoyment and don't like focusing on rules (although it will be frustrating if images are disqualified). I've used cloning and all sort of photoshop tools over the years. ALL of them are "cheating" in some sense. With regards to the color palette. I was working with the colors that stimulated me in Morocco. I realize color palettes are very personal to the artist and don't always resonate with audiences. I tried to create a balanced but visually striking color scheme. The halo that bothered you was intentional and again falls under the category of personal preference. I always appreciate feedback so I hope my response doesn't come across as defensive, it is not. |

Robin, This image has stuck with me since I first viewed it. I like how the woman's gaze engages me directly while at the same time I sense she is viewing the flower. It mirrors my experience of noticing the flower and the woman. An interesting exploration into the idea of subject/object/observer. |

Nadia, You've created another amazingly balanced and highly stylized image here. I love all of the elements. The lighting is skillfully rendered to draw the viewers attention to the various elements. I have no suggestions, just admiration. |

Tom, I love this departure from your usual style. You've done a great job with this capture. I find the addition of the starburst and clouds a nice compliment to this subject. |

Joan, Despite all the technical challenges you are struggling with you've created an interesting image. I like how you've created a web from handling of a photo of a glass sculpture. The addition of a color gradient adds nicely to the image. I find the shift from the dark bottom part of the web to the bright upper portion a bit strong and wonder if the spider might have a stronger impact if the web brightness range was a little tighter. |

Ian, Welcome to the group and thanks for sharing this interesting image. I always find the hardest part for me is taking a good image and finding areas to explore. Your choices to expand the orange color and how you created radial movement followed by the glowing orange frame is a nice touch. As I stare at your image I can imagine a buddhist monk in the center glowing with radiant energy. As you will learn I tend to favor the surreal in my images. Looking forward to seeing what you bring to the group next month. |

Hazel, You've created an interesting image here. I like how the double exposure creates a disequilibrium that almost transports you into a different time. The addition of the figures within the arches suggests a magical spiritual theme. As I looked at your picture I wondered what directions I might take. Playing with level of opacity for the figures could further suggest time or something more mystical. Nicely done. |

Kristi, Kind of you to say. I do often find it hard to do anything with my images as I do my best to have each photo work by itself. There is something fun in the creative process, even if it doesn't improve on the originals. |

Alan, This is one of your best conceptual pieces in my opinion. I love how you've constructed a visual story here that literally drew me into the other room in search of the third apparition. Congratulations! |

Maria, Well done! I love how you've blended these various elements to create a magical image that feels like an epic tale one would read in the Upanishads or some similar text. Your choice of a more monochrome image and blending of the elements with fog is masterful. |

Peggy, I like how you've created a visual story which is recapitulated in the title. I had viewed the image and your description before the title and smiled after reading the title. I love how you've placed the birds and implied a gravitational pull. the warped beach ripples create a very powerful element literally pulling the viewer and the birds into the center of the vortex. Your handling of the sky and birds is masterful. I do find the vortex colors and contrast jarring though. The portion under the subjects feet works nicely. As it transitions into the epicenter it feels too bright and large for me (i.e. I'd expect the twirl to tighten more given the feel of the vortex). I'd love to see some of your other versions. |
