Alan, Thanks for visiting Group 41 and playing with my image. I think I'm leaning towards "less is more" in this one. |

I'm with Tom, interested in hearing a little more on your process. I like how You've created the old style feel. I also agree with Tom, a figure or a splash of color from a single leaf or flower would create some resonance. |

Tom, You've created a nicely balanced image with a realistic looking shadow and an interesting textural background. My only feedback is the vase seems too perfect. I wonder if you added some textural imperfections if it might integrate better with the background. Nice work. |

Peggy, I appreciate your thoughtful exploration of this image. There is nothing "intentional" about this one other than the goal of having some fun. |

Alan, I can see why this image wouldn't appeal to you (or me for that matter) as it violates "less is more" and doesn't have a clear message or unifying style. I put it in the category of experimentation. |

Kirsti, I love how you decided "this is just the way it must be." I'm not sure I can make the same conclusion but it certainly is as it is! |

Matt, A good suggestion. This is one of those images that didn't really make the cut in terms of having a real message so it was more about process. I may go back and try adding some of the sky color back to see how it feels. |

Alan, I like this departure. At first I wondered if you and Peggy teamed up as your images have a similar resonance. I love how the different elements seem to exist on different plains and yet integrate so well. There's something in your style here which I'd recommend trying with other images as it is quite beautiful. |

Maria, This is a very compelling image with such great movement and color. It has high impact. My only suggestion would be to work on the bottom left corner as it feels a bit too dark and heavy relative to the bottom right. |

Kirsti, I like what you've done with this and find the backstory sad and fascinating at the same time. I can see why you would want to hold onto the stain marks for authenticity. The symmetry feels limiting in this dream like image. Given the anticipated demolition and sadness of the backstory I wonder if you were to have the bottom right corner showing some type of decay. I also feel so many other handlings of the upper half would be available if you wanted to explore the magical aspect. I often find my original idea limits me from moving the image in a different direction. |

Matt, I join the group in thoroughly enjoy this magical image. The color and feel is very pleasing. I am drawn into the landscape through your beautiful framing. I agree with Peggy regarding the slight rightward tilt and the slightly distracting blurring of the leaves at the base of the frame, otherwise it is a super effective image which will likely be a favorite of the wedding party. |

Peggy, I love the creative journey you've taken us on. The textures and implied trees are rich visually. I agree with the suggestions shared. I'm inspired by the experimentation that rendered this final output. |
