Hazel, This is a great idea which would add just the right element of surrealism to this image. I like the idea especially given how many of these painters worked with styles to have the eyes follow you as you move across the room. |

Nadia, This is a beautiful image. Your juxtaposing a muted tree and tonally calming background with vividly colored birds of different sizes is esthetically pleasing. You've done a great job placing the birds and creating a fascinating "family". I may have to steal your idea as a holiday card with the kids all perched on branches. |

Tom, Another masterfully crafted self portrait. I love how nicely you've blended the tree trunk into your head and the handling of your wooden ears. |

Melissa, You've done a wonderful job removing the distracting elements and placing the image in a new landscape. In the future if you can share the original image that helps us all learn previsualization. One minor point. The figure on the left has an unnatural curvilinear extension of the sand cutting into what should be the trees as the horizon meets the mans flank. |

Hazel, This is a beautifully balanced montage. I can see a series of these with different flowers making a wonderful book. |

Alan, Point well taken. From my perspective pictures have features that can enhance or detract from their impact. We always have creative license my suggestions have my own personal bias so take them as feedback you can ignore. |

Alan, I like the story and tonality of this image. I do find the shadow of the light from the window on the ground unnatural in appearance and the lighting and dark figure in the window feel too contrasty for the image. A few tweaks may make it feel more believable and balance the image. |

Maria, I join the group in thoroughly enjoying this lovely image. I agree you could play around with how you handle the flowers but the image is super strong and pleasing. Nicely done! |

Kirsti, This is truly magical and beautifully rendered. When I took a look at Original 2 it made me wonder if the yellow color in your final version added value. Peggy's version does dial things back in what feels more balanced to my eye but I think Original 2 is very successful as well. The yellow version did loose some facial details which are better appreciated in Original 2. Both are good, we all have different esthetic preferences. Nicely done! |

Matt, This is spectacular and inspiring. The rich colors you've created are exceptional and compelling. I wonder if a more traditional fire in the fireplace might create a different effect as the starburst is the only thing that doesn't look "real". |

Matt, I like your suggestion, it would further legitimize the "reality" of this fantasy. |

Alan, Thanks for the feedback. I'm not wedded to the threat theme. In fact many versions didn't communicate this at all. I do like how the fox balanced the bottom of the image and added an orange tone that matched the column. This image is another version I had developed before I added the fox. |
