Nadia, You've created another striking and powerful image which I like very much. The muted tones and grainy handling create such a strong mood. The birds enhance the overall effect nicely. I have mixed feelings about the words on the roof. I'm not 100% sure they enhance the photo, although I go back and forth on this. |

Tom, You've created an incredibly strong visual image with many strengths. The lighting, color choices, shapes and flowing smoke in the flame and background are visually striking. I have no suggestions to enhance this image, nicely done. |

Brian, This is a very solid and nicely executed handling of puzzle pieces. You've created a beautifully balanced pleasing still life. Given my interest in story telling I am wishing there was more of a message here. If I were to develop this further I might play with the shapes to create some type of message whether directly or implied. |

Melissa, I really like your handling of the cactus. Your choices to desaturate and intensify contrast and edges brings attention to the structure and makes this the primary subject. I like the way the lady bug serves as a contrast by being a splash of color. I wonder if it were a little larger if it may balance it as a notable counterpoint. If you were interested in other explorations I wonder if the adding of a very subtle coloring of the edge (an area the lady bug is heading. I've often used a subject like the lady bug to paint its way into a different landscape. That is how I might play around with it but it is complete as is, nicely done. |

Matt, Thanks for this additional suggestion on "how" to adjust the lighting to make it work better. |

Matt, Excuse my late entry. I didn't see your image when I went through the group earlier in the month and got busy. I join the group in enjoying the blend of color and movement in this image. A perfect handling of the Time Square Vibe |

This simplification does focus the attention on the subjects and better fits "less is more". A floor gradient may be a great substitute for the receding back wall you removed. |

Alan, This is a visually intense image with a lot going on. I find the image a little crowded, i.e. the bending over figure feels too close to the hovering chess board. I also wonder, with less is more as a priority, if the complex background is a little too complex, distracting from all the intense stuff going on in the foreground. Otherwise, I love this image, nicely done. |

Maria, You've done a spectacular job crafting a visual treat with this one. All elements work beautifully together and are visually strong. For improvements I wonder if you were able to create a slight increased "punch" to the central figure by lighting her slightly brighter or increasing contrast but this image pops as is. |

Kirsti, I wasn't familiar with this Dali painting. It certainly does not fit with Alan's less and more preference. In fact Dali's surrealism is often packed with a lot of details that seem almost too personal. I am a huge fan of surrealism and gravitate towards Magritte for his simplicity. I find both versions of your image compelling. There is a lot to visually explore. You've done a great job choosing the glowing edge and complex shadows. You could certainly add some yellow/orange hues to the umbrella or maybe a fire at the center of your circle of witches if you want to bring further attention to the Dali image but I like it how it is. |

Peggy, You've created a pleasing image here. I like how you've created a period feel by adding this woman emerging from another time. I am have mixed feelings about the color overlay. Although it is pleasing, I wonder if a different type of lighting might reinforce the time period she comes from. |
