Lisa, It does take me back to those movies for sure. I'll try the left to right viewing option and see how that develops |

Hazel, The original image was taken up in the hills, far away from the ocean. I added my daughter by the ocean as a surreal statement. I understand my creative leanings don't appeal to everyone. Many of my images do explore dark themes. Not sure it is intentional, but I am open to whatever unconscious ideas emerge as I play with images. |

Lisa, Thanks. Another thing I'd like to play with, although not sure my camera has the option of live composite. |

Lisa, I also very much like the textural handling of the tree lines road. Can you share some of the process that went into creating the image prior to adding the texture, i.e. how did you create Original 1? I find the frog a little distracting and would like to see a different handling or different subject to add to this otherwise enchanted scene. |

Nadia, I very much like this image as well. It succeeds in telling a story and has a very pleasing and playful quality to it. How did you create the texture in this image? |

Tom, I join the others in admiring this successful image. You've achieved your goal in a highly stylized and pleasing image. I like it just as is. |

Brian, This is my third attempt at commenting on your image. There seems to have been a server issue the times I tried. I really enjoy the feeling of this image. It feels successful in the soft and pleasing palate and range of contrast and sharpness. As a Dermatologist my first reaction was seeing a melanoma on the eyelid margin of an older person as viewed through a scratched window or glasses. I receive many images requesting a diagnosis and many people send out of focus images expecting a definitive diagnosis. |

Hazel, This is my third attempt at commenting on your picture. It seems there had been a glitch in the system when I tried before. After reading your thoughts on this image I did feel you succeeded in recreating that sense of distraction and disorientation inherent in shopping. Another handling of this which may ease the viewer's distress someone would be to have one earring in sharper focus or with greater contrast to suggest the process by which the distraction of so many choices eventually leads to a selection of an object of interest. |

Peggy, Thanks for your kind words and helpful suggestions. I do think the image is stronger with just my son and the bathing bright colored bathing suit my daughter is wearing doesn't fit the scene |

Alan, Thanks for your comments. This certainly wasn't the last leaf of the season, although the yellow filter does help sell that. |

Kirsti, Thanks for weighing in on this. The original version just had my daughter. I felt it was a little imbalanced so I added my son. Once I added him I thought about removing her and was afraid I might hear her ask something like "why did you take me out of the picture?" I think I will make two versions. |

Maria, Your suggestion is super helpful and solves the depth of field challenge that comes from cut and paste. Thanks! |

Bruce, This is a powerful image and beautifully crafted. I love the title as it suggests many possible scenarios that are left open to the viewer to consider. |

Alan, I will join the others in appreciating this iconic image of futility. The image feels a bit flat to me. I wonder if you lit her face with moonlight if it might make things pop a bit more. |

Maria, I'm a little late to the party. What a wonderfully magical image. I immediately had a reaction to the hook. The revised version is perfect. |

Kirsti, I love the fact you went to Gotland to capture this image at its source. I'm not as bothered by the hand given it is a story about a healer (and it seems healers often use their hands to heal). I do find the image somewhat flat. If this bothers you I might play around with the dark tones as you could selectively add contrast to create more depth. Either way it is a lovely image, very evocative. |

Peggy, This is my third time trying to comment after a glitch on the server. I was in Bruce's camp with a desire to bring the subject more attention otherwise it works for me. |
