Tom, I'm always inclined to add a bird to most of my pictures and have considered a black bird as you describe. Thanks! |

Lisa, Your use of more steam has effectively focused the attention on the train. I really like this image as it is and wonder how a grittier more contrasty train might feel as well (making the train really emerge from the fog) |

Nadia, I love the image. Very powerful. The eagle and snake truly are at a standoff. I don't feel the lack of a tongue is a limitation. You could certainly try generative fill to see if the built in AI can generate a tongue given its a very small part of the image. You've done an outstanding job with the colors, lighting and contrast. I do find the hovering birds a bit distracting. I wonder if you moved them further to the right if that might feel more balanced and less distracting, or consider just eliminating them given how powerful your subjects are in this image. |

Tom, An interesting exploration. I like the concept. My very first reaction was a disappointment your granddaughter's face is just not sharp enough as one would expect her to be even sharper than you in the distance. This may just be a reality from the original image but something that caught my eye immediately. I also find the one black bird and 4 white birds feel a bit too symmetric (even though you've changed the numbers) as they are placed identically in the sky. I do like how you've staggered your two images of yourself, creating a nice asymmetry. |

Hazel, I admire your creative exploration. The original blue image is quite compelling on its own. I often will do a 1,2 comparison when I apply filters to see if I feel it adds value to the image ( a bit like the comparison the optometrist takes you through). My personal take on this is the distortion from the distort filter does not add to, but detracts from the image as it does distort the flower. I'm glad to see you have more experimentation planned. Please share what you create. |

Alan, I doubt you "hate to say" it. I generally am a less is more kind of guy too. |

Alan, This image is one of my favorites of yours in recent past. The elements and handling are very strong. The simplicity creates an archetypal theme which lends itself to endless interpretations. I have no suggestions other than selling it to a cool band as an album cover. |

Maria, Excellent! I very much like everything about this image. Peggy's suggestion about proportions make sense to me. My mind wandered back to the eye of the dragon. Although I think it works perfectly as is I wondered about a more contrasty sharper eye to draw attention to that focal point in the image for a point of contrast. |

Kirsti, I love the magical feel of this tree. It must have been a special night. I agree about the people but don't have a problem with them being adults (although I like Alan's idea). The bright blue for these subjects feels too much. I might play with other hues, contrast etc. |

Aavo, I share in the groups enjoyment of this image. I have often played with this very theme. You've crafted a nicely balanced image. I agree with Kirsti's suggestions on cleaning up the hand some and if you are motivated you can do a little masking of the edges of the phone screen and erase the iPhone button as those details will sell the image more. |

Peggy, I'm never disappointed by your creative explorations. This image immediately reminded me of the movie the hunger games. As such my mind started looking for flames or radiating light. I think it would be interesting to accentuate the converging lines that make up the receding walls and can imagine fire and lights radiating around the snake. |
