Lisa, Excuse my late entry. I sat down to comment a few weeks ago and didn't follow through. Technically this image is well done. I find it disorienting given the vertical handling. I also don't have a sense of a meaning or concept you are working towards. |

Tom, Excuse my late response. I had typed you a response a couple weeks ago but it apparently never sent. I like your image very much. The depth of field creates a lot of intrigue. I like the image as is. One thought I had would be to have an object in the foreground that would sell a story. A set of keys, a gun, one of your famous hats, a photograph of a lost love, you get the idea. |

Brian, This is a beautiful and compelling image. I love the increased contrast used sparingly on the woman's face. The swirling lines and misty handling create a complex image which draws my eyes back again and again. There is something dream like in the background. I feel as if I see faces and forms and yet, with further examination, they fade into a greater mystery. Well done. Sorry to hear about your equipment challenges. A photographers greatest fear. |

Hazel, I really like what you've done here with this still life. The colors and composition are very pleasing. My only suggestion would be to pay some attention to some of the leaves on the "table top" as the pattern from the table bleeds into the leaves making them seem partially translucent. Not sure if this was intentional. |

Marta, I really like the texture and lighting you've created in this image. I personally enjoy when an image is anchored in reality, at least a little. I have no suggestions as this image feels complete as is. |

Hazel, I created the lightning using an online tutorial. It is pretty straightforward. If you search "creating lightning on photoshop" there are a lot of tutorials. |

Maria, Thanks. Northern beaches are magical. I certainly enjoy hanging out at the beach at night. It's nice to recycle many images and create new versions. |

Peggy, Thanks for your suggestion. I have not played with the Lookup Color adjustment. I will give it a try. I agree the white balance is off and I will work on that. |

Aavo, Thanks. Yes, generative fill is the newest addition to photoshop. It uses artificial intelligence to offer alternatives for filling problem areas. I have always enjoyed trying new filters, this is the latest variant. I do miss the days of my earlier photoshop versions as they kept things simple but the versatility of later versions is worth it for me. |

Kirsti, The middle left and lower right were areas I used generative fill. Sometimes it does a better job than cloning or adding other layers to tie together themes. |

Kirsti, The version with the older self is equally interesting and creates a very different symbolism for me. I like both. It's fun to see alternate versions based on dialogue. |

Alan, You have successfully accomplished your goal of creating chaos. It seems contrary to your usual "less is more". The horse in this image doesn't feel handled in the same way as the people, i.e. a bit softer in contrast. If this is intentional, as an accentuation of chaos, great, if not, it is somewhat distracting.
I really like the woman in red and white and the original 2 background. I could see a different story emerging from those two elements but understand your goal and experimentation. |

Maria, What an interesting image. I like how you've punched up the contrast on the future citizens and like the color scheme you've chosen which fits nicely with the futuristic scene. I find the background a bit busy and expected Alan to jump in with his suggestion of less is more. |

Kirsti, My reaction to this image before reading your description was confusion and admiration. I admired how beautiful the many elements came together and was confused as to the message.
There's something about the proportions that confused me. The girl seems too large and sharp relative to her distance from the cup. I love the original proportions of the cup which suggests to me enlarging the cup in the foreground may solve that issue some. I wonder if you added an older girl gazing at the cup from the side suggesting her reminiscence of her early childhood and her connection with this sentimental object.
I'm going to have to sit with this image longer and will get back to you if other ideas come to mind. |

Peggy, Such a powerful image. I love your handling of the coloring and texture. The solitary chimp is powerful and works with or without the lizard. I'm often tormented by these types of decisions. Fortunately with photos you can do both. An oil painting would be a tougher dilemma. Alan's handling certainly deepens the desolation. So many options! |
