Brian, I love your further explorations. Each captures a different and interesting energy. Nicely done. |

Hazel, I like your handling of the art brush in this image. The decision to show multiple images of the same surfer works well with this rendering. Overall the image has a nice balance to it. If I were to consider taking the image in a different direction I might have the bottom image of the falling surfer be more consumed by the water with more art brush strokes as I find that figure somewhat distracting. If that rendering were explored, increasing the sharpness and contrast of the left figure would create a stronger focal point as that is the most powerful of the three figures. |

Lisa, What an interesting conspiracy theory! I would consider removing the blurry portion below the branch as it brought my attention down and I don't feel it adds much to the image. If you are trying to communicate the idea that birds aren't real I would also consider removing the filter effect on the branch as well to avoid suggesting trees aren't real either. We don't want to start another conspiracy. |

Nadia, I love the feeling of this image. Your handling of light and hue is outstanding. Your addition of the yellow/orange light works beautifully with the blue sky. As I looked at the image before reading your description I thought the only thing missing was a person. After reading your description I then noticed the person's shoe. I believe the image could be a lot stronger if you could better bring attention to the lone person. The scarf that is draped over the bench is distracting to the eye and I might consider cloning it out. Given how powerful the image is otherwise I would encourage you to play with this more if you have any images of benches in which you could place a figure with whom you could develop the sense of despair more. |

Tom, Another outstanding image in the Tom series. I find the minimalist approach you've chosen here very successful. On my first viewing I was minimally distracted by the patchwork of land below the clouds. I wonder if you were to clone in more clouds if it would further develop the minimalism and focus the attention on this ethereal image. |

Brian, I very much enjoy your image and the process you used to create it. The use of an image in an image and the swirling lines add a nice sense of movement and tie the planes together nicely. I'm not sure it communicates migraine to me as the figures face does not seem to show any distress. |

Kirsti, Thanks. I certainly pushed "reality" a bit but it seemed to work. |

Alan, I opened this image and for a moment was disoriented. Not in the way you think. I was trying to figure out who did the photo. It is a departure from your more stylized images with figures placed on unnatural landscapes. There is something very inviting in this image which has a wonderful depth of field. I have to admit I didn't see the raven at first and was going to admonish you for having only two images (as I hadn't read your description of how the images was created), although I do like the size and lighting. I have no suggestions for improvements as I like it as it is. |

Maria, I find this image beautifully balanced with respect to the scenery and the figures. I agree the rain is a bit distracting as it doesn't appear natural. I do like the cleaner version but wonder if you could add a texture to the surface to enhance the mood. |

Kirsti, This is a beautiful and magical image. I agree with the cropping suggestions but also love your background image and can relate to not wanting to sacrifice any of the majestic tree. I do like how you've increased the darkness and contrast of the girl. I might consider increasing the contrast some for the foreground spirit. Since she should be backlit given the position of the starburst you could increase her contrast some and create a halo glow around her keeping an ethereal look. Just suggestions from a fellow fantasy creator. |

Aavo, I love Mono Lake. This is a compelling image with elements that nicely tie together your idea. I might consider having the building reflection closer to the tufas so as to sell the reflection better. I might also suggest working with the size of the boat some as it feels too small to my eye. |

Peggy, I continue to admire your explorations into texture. Your title grabbed my attention and served as an intriguing premise to shape my exploration into your image. Although I really like how you've constructed this image it feels incomplete. Maybe it is due to not fully developing the theme of the title. The relatively low contrast duck head and very bright light in the reflected water feels too jarring for my tastes. Given the relatively introspective aspect of the image/title a darker more subdued color handling may sell the story greater. |
