Lisa, Thanks for your suggestions. I agree the noise could definitely be toned down. |

Tom, Thanks for your suggestion. It's interesting how hard it is to change directions on an image. This image was all about the back leaves with their intense branching pattern, something I emphasized with the black and white. The bird was an afterthought. I can see how blurring the background more would bring attention to the bird but I am not quite ready to abandon the current emphasis. |

Nadia, Thank you for your feedback. It's always interesting hearing people's suggestions. I have a version of this with a tighter cropping and one with the bird brighter. I settled on this one as it spoke to the feeling I was having as I played with the image. The other versions are nice too. |

Lisa, Another very cool technique execute with perfection. This image reminds me of fireworks pictures I've taken with long shutter exposure, fun seeing what is rendered. |

Nadia, I love the fall colors and lighting. Your concept is an excellent one and you've done a great job adding so many leaves to this image. Having said all that, it feels a bit imbalanced to my eye. I wonder if you had fewer leaves and applied some motion blur to the leaves to sell the idea it might feel more natural. It's also hard to appreciate there is a person in the image so I might start by removing some of the leaves that obscure your subject. This is definitely an image worth tweaking some as it is very interesting. |

Tom, I like this theme. I really like how the people and cat draws you into the image and beckons the iconic Tom to follow.I'm not 100% sold on the egret. It definitely adds something and creates some interesting triangulation, maybe it needs to be slightly larger? |

Henry, Another fun exploration in to flowers, color and form. I find the image relatively flat and wonder if you were to bring back a little more 3 dimensionality to the flowers if this might not make things more dynamic. |

Kirsti, I find this image has a distinct mood but the lime green color is a bit jarring for me. I like your handling of the eyes better in your second version as they create a more powerful contrast with the background. |

Alan, Although I appreciate your technique and idea I find the picture too stark and minimalist for my taste. I wonder if you could use a real box something like the type of boxes used in magic tricks and incorporate some of the magical smoke from the original image. |

I also took the liberty to try resizing the girl to bring her struggle more central to the focus of the image, just an alternative rendering to consider. |

Maria, I like your image quite a bit. You have created a very evocative image with beautiful tonality, hues and atmosphere. I like anthromorphism and think you've done a great job telling a story. I'm not bothered by the symmetry of the image as the reaching trees justify the girls placement centrally. |

Alan, I like your image. Thank youf for the suggest of having the men in front of the hand. I had a version of them in the hand but like your idea more. |

Alan, What an interesting poem, thank you for making me aware of it. I love how the meaning emerges as one sits with the words. It is a similar experience to how this happens with a photo. The irony for me is this image is speaking to me deep from my unconscious and I haven't fully processed it. Being a fellow lover of the surreal I'm curious if you have a reaction to the three versions I've shared from the perspective of impact. |
