Tom, I like the three hands. One hand would be equally strong. A third option would be to have two hands with one lower down as if the arms are emerging from the vat of bubbling essence searching for something to grab onto |

Tom, Yes, that would work too but I don't have any skateboarder images that work. What appealed to me in this case was the contrast of the blue black wetsuit, something a skateboarder would not wear. In my flower series I've abandoned traditional rules as they free me to play with form, shape and implied stories. |

Henry, The blur effect is just the bokeh from using a close up lens on the flower image. |

Lisa, I do recall trying a few blur techniques and do believe the smart blur was the most natural looking. Thanks for the suggestion to reduce the brightness in the upper right. As I look at it now I think I could tone down some of the highlights on the flowers as well |

Lisa, Great concept and beautiful execution. The colors and shapes are wonderful. You do so much amazing stuff "in-camera" |

Nadia, This is a very compelling image. It reminds me a little of a Normal Rockwell painting. I love the connection implied through the gaze of the child. All of the elements work nicely together to create a moment in time. The child's face seems a shade bright for my taste otherwise I have no suggestions to offer other than keep creating. |

Tom, Another flawlessly executed image. I like the lighting and all the different elements you've brought together to tell this story. There is a very minor distracting green element along the thumb side of the forearm. Not sure if that is from the background but it is a little sharper than the swirling green lines. |

Henry, I like your image. You have created a nicely balanced artistic still life of sorts. The original is very pleasing as well. I need to play around with a light box! |

Alan, An interesting suggestion. I suspect it would loose some of the impact even though it would make sense. The way I justify this conceptually is the deer has never encountered an alligator before since it is not familiar with puddle lurking alligators. |

Peggy, I like this verson too. I don't think there is too much more tweaking needed unless you feel compelled to do so as all of your version are very good. |

Kirsti, Your 3rd recommendation for a 3rd crocodile cemented the deal. As noted in my other comments it was always my intention to have a 3rd crocodile. haven't been able to find one that adds to the image. I will give it another go. Thanks for your support |

Maria, Thanks. yes a 3rd crocodile. I spent hours trying to fit a third crocodile in the image. Given the unanimous recommendation I will dig into my crocodile archive to find one that works |

Peggy, Thanks for your attention to details. I tried to place a third crocodile a lot and couldn't find one that balanced the image. Given the unanimous comments about a third crocodile I will try to find another one that might work |

Peggy, I love how willing you are to continue developing your craft. The ICM rooftop is masterfully done and by itself a very interesting image. The addition of the figure does add intrigue to this image. It's hard to tell on my screen how much you've played with transparency of the subject. I might try erasing some of the fog layer very selectively, such as around the eyes, to create some punch in the subject. |

Alan, This is an interesting departure from your usual style, one that I am enjoying (although I do enjoy your other works quite a bit too). Everything works nicely here. My only suggestion would be to consider raising up the yellow baloon some as its positioning created the look of a sphere to my eye and took me away from appreciating it from floating out of the floor. |

Maria, I am really enjoying this months entry. I like both of your renditions but do like the one with the sheep a little more. The sharper figure creates some more complexity to enjoy. Viewing the smaller icon in the revised version makes the panels seem greener and crisper. This suggests to me there is room to explore other handlings of the hue, contrast, tonality etc of each panel if you wanted to play with it more, although it feels pretty complete as it is. Now all you need is to write a childrens book to go with your illustration. |

Kiresti, Glad to have you join the fun. I very much like your image. Your granddaughter is a natural in this role. My only suggestion would be to consider applying some treatment to the ground to eliminate the familiar stone pattern so as to sell this as otherworldly. |
