Lisa, This photo feels beautifully balanced to me with gorgeous light and a very soothing background. The placement of the wolves is nicely balanced. Can you share a little about how you did the background and snow? |

Nadia, This is an outstanding composition which is successful on many levels. I love the atmosphere created by the sky and hues chosen. I agree with Tom regarding the book on the ground and wonder if you just eliminated that book (and I might consider removing the blue bird too)as that might focus the image more in the upper third where you want the viewer to look. |

Tom, I think the image would be strong without the monkey as well. If you keep the monkey I would do your best to make the monkey look like it belongs in the image not pasted into the image. |

Susan, This is a beautifully complex portrait which draws me in. It is excellent as done. If you wanted to play with it some I might blur the roses in the background as they pull my eye away from the subject some, particularly on the bottom left. |

Henry, I like what you've done this month. This image has a beautiful balance of color, brightness, saturation, and sharpness. I might consider cloning out the small swatch at the bottom left as that small cluster draws the eye down and might be stronger if it was just a clean stem to keep the eye higher up in the image. |

Kathy, I enjoy the playfulness of this image. I have done quite a few paste a person on a background, as you can see from this months photos. I have a personal preference for cleaning up the edges and matching the brightness/sharpness etc, unless it is my intention to push things in a different direction. When I zoom in on these men I can see some edge artifacts. Not a big deal at a distance but if you print people will notice it more. I also might pay attention to the lower man as it is nice if you can have his hands interact with the tooth as if they are really holding on to the tooth. This often requires positioning the figure in a different location or erasing part of a hand to sell the reality of the grasp. I realize these are really fussy details which may not matter at all to you but I think they become important if you want your image to be more believable. |

Susan, Great eye, I hadn't noticed it till you pointed it out. That's an easy fix, thanks. |

Tom, I filled that out years ago and don't recall what I wrote. I'll take a look and try to update. I live in the Bay Area. Do you feel the area in the flower on which she is "working" isn't as sharp. I see some of the surrounding petals are blurrier but I thought she matched the section she is in. |

Peter, I can relate to wanting to salvage images that weren't what you wanted but are interesting in some way. I like your composition but it feels a little busy to me. I also wonder if you softened the edges slightly on the planets if they would look less "stuck on". |

Yes! I love this image Maria. You've worked some real magic here. I am always drawn to taking images of the forrest with a trail leading off into the distance. This image is haunting, beautiful and compelling. This one should be submitted to a contast as it is asking for a first place prize. |

Kathy, I love this idea and what you've done with it. I really like the muted hue, proportions and choice of subjects for this image. I am certainly looking forward to seeing what else you have in store for us in 2022. |

Aavo, It may be a "simple one "but it is very successful. Even in the small icon I could tell you are on to something. This kind of idea is worth spending more time developing and trying other versions as it is very powerful. |

Peggy, I enjoyed hearing your process for this image. It feels complete. I have no suggestions for improvement as I feel you've nailed it. Beautiful, evocative image. |
