Maryellen, Thank you. It is a pretty magical place. Topaz is a lot of fun. I have to remind myself not to spend too much time on it as I can get caught up in the fun of the powerful transformations the algorithms create |

Kathy, Thank you for the delicate way you handled this question. As I mentioned in my response to Henry it is a personal taste thing. My kids generally prefer my less "weird" versions but I got to be me! |

Henry, Thanks for the feedback. I did apply topaz only to the background. The hand was added later and I erased away part of it to reveals the creepy texture on the wrist. As Kathy says I did what "spoke to (you)" I do have a version without the texture on the hand and it is more traditional but I liked how the texture rubbed me. Ultimately these explorations are a personal journey. |

Lisa, You continue to amaze me with your deep explorations into technique. The image means even more after reading what you did. I'd be interested in hearing a little more on how you added the water reflections. |

Jan, You've created a very powerful image here. Thank you for sharing all of your steps. Your handling of the light and color is exceptional. Although I like the jellyfish, the handling of the tentacles feels "fake" compared with the rest of the image. Given how strong the clouds, house and field are in this image I would suggest playing more with the jellyfish. I think the image may hold up without the jellyfish entirely |

Henry, I love how open you are to exploration. Your description brings back fond memories of my early years in photography where I remember flipping the light on in the dark room to get that solarization effect. Photoshop and Topaz take things to another level. Keep playing, you have become quite the artist. |

Kathy, I certainly didn't see this in the sky during the conjunction. You've done an exceptional job photographing the moon and planets for us all to enjoy. This brings back a fond memory of randomly discovering saturn in our backyard with my father's telescope as a kid. Nothing better than seeing it with your own eyes (except maybe a cool photoshop composite) |

Nothing to add to the groups collective wisdom. I feel like those frog eyes will visit me in my dreams! |

Aavo, This feels like an image out of the show The Walking Dead. I really like gritty and somewhat creepy energy of this image. Hopefully 2021 will be a more uplifting year. |

Not as complicated as some of your images Alan but I like how the people imply a story of what we can't see. I feel the complete shift to black and white in the sky and particularly the trees on the left and right detract from the image. I might add back a little bit of the original color to ease that transition. |

This is an example of where the focus of the image changed quite a bit. This is often a byproduct of me trying to meet the three image criteria for this group. |

Alan, Yes, I agree with you. I've taken a slight detour recently since purchasing Topaz. I do like how playing with it creates unexpected textures that take me in different directions. I've granted myself to the space to play for a little while before I get "serious" again. |

Kathy, You caught me! I totally lost focus with this image. The dolphin needs to be the star again! |
