Maryellen, Just bought it recently based on seeing other members using it. It's fun to go to when the image needs a little boost. |

Jan, Excellent suggestions. I did reduce the filter further on the face as you and Henry suggested. The green circle came from me applying a lens flare filter. I was just trying to create some more intrigue in the image and when I saw the green circle I liked it and erased all the other flare. I can see how it may not add much but it worked for me at the time |

Henry, Thanks. The original filtered image completely obliterated my daughter's face. I used layers to erase away the filter to bring forth my daughter's face. When I completely erased it back to the original it looked too stuck on to my taste to I added back a little of the filtered effect to balance it. This is the version that felt the most balanced to me. These fine details boil down to personal taste. I appreciate you giving me feedback |

Maryellen, You've created another beautiful image with your drippy theme. I like your gradient background and handling of the edges. The girls foot stepping out of the frame is excellent. I don't know if the bus in the center adds much to this otherwise highly colorful image as it is not recognizable. I'm not sure what to suggest yet, but I might play around with eliminating it or adding something else, maybe something with movement that counters the downward drips. |

Lisa, As always you've crafted a beautiful image. This brings to mind Michelangelo's famous painting on the ceiling of the Sistine chapel. I wonder if you could add a splash of blue in this, maybe a tiny beetle crawling out of one of the cracks to create a visual accent to this otherwise beautiful orange image. |

Jan, This is beautifully crafted. I think you've succeeded in creating a very nice image. My only suggestion might be to work on making the bee more prominent in some way. I wondered if a bee in flight away from the flowers might have more visual impact, as it takes a little time to discover the bee on the flower given how similar its color range is to the flower. |

Lisa, I love the colors and feel of your image. This would make a wonderful cover for a children's book. Kathy's suggestion is a good one. |

Henry, This is a nice composite. I agree with Kathy's suggestion. I'm not sure if it is an artifact of compression or an intentional effect but I see a number of punched out areas in the sky. As you become more proficient with techniques I would encourage you to spend less time on technique and more time telling a story. |

Kathy, This is a wonderful tribute to the Oak tree. I live in the bay area and am very fond of Oak trees. I haven't heard of Table Mountain Ecological reserve, likely because it is so far away. Your handling of this is beautiful. When I first looked at the image I wondered if you were able to have the horizon line up if that would be more pleasing. Can't tell for sure, but as I look at it now, it is so pleasant I don't know that I would do any fussing. |

Peggy, I figured that's what you were referring to. I had added some of the shadows and lines from the original into the composite but I will explore some more, thanks. |

Alan, Not sure if you are referring to the birds I've placed or Peggy's add ons. I have to admit, the birds were added to reach our 3 image quota! |

Peggy, Thanks for your suggestions. I suspect if I added more birds as you suggest Alan would scream "less is more!" |

Betty, You and Aavo have a fog theme going this month. I like the concept behind your image. The muted tones are very pleasing. I wonder if you were to move the ghost riders a little up and to the right if it may balance the image a little. I also find the handling of the women's heads a little distracting and not sure if it is intentional. |

Alan, Another very compelling image. Thematically it is outstanding. The interplay between the different elements invites the viewer to tell the story. I find all of the elements quite pleasing. I like your idea of making a sphere. I wonder if it would be even more magical if you were able to make it look more three dimensional. My only other suggestion would be to soften the shadows from the columns slightly, but that's a personal preference. |

Kathy, So happy we get to interact in more than one site. This is a wonderful image. I like how you've gently blended an image of the coronavirus into the background. it is subtle enough that it isn't a distraction but adds a time signature to your piece. Your use of color, blending, perspective and proportion all sell this image and create a visual treat. Welcome to group 54. |

Aavo, This is a compelling image on many levels. I like the tonal range and fog. The sharpness and position of the in focus runner on the right is perfection. I have two minor suggestions. The cropping of the left side feels tight for my taste, but this is a minor issue. I find the focus of the other runners a bit distracting. I might suggest bringing one or two more of the runners close to the lead runner a little more in focus to create a more natural balance, otherwise the image is very strong and enjoyable to view. |

Wonderful image Peggy! I really like this one. Everything about it is carefully crafted and it shows. I love the way the color gradient enhances the butterfly and gives the eye an area to wander. The decision to use a flower stem was perfect. This image has the simplicity of a Magritte and the conceptual idea behind it is excellent. I would print it and hang it on your wall. |
