Lisa, Thanks for your thoughts. The irony is the image was all about the tree trunk and the "eyes" on it. This may be an example of where I lost the forest for the trees. I can see now how the tree can be distracting and I will play with it some more. |

Lisa, This is a beautiful image. I love how the filter makes this perfect image more magical. Well done. |

Stephen, Thanks for your comments. I certainly was influenced by Dali and enjoyed seeing Bunuel films in college. |

Aavo, Thanks for the feedback. Yes, There are a number of challenging areas where I couldn't easily make it look like it was a natural landscape without a lot more work. It's funny, the two trees that bother you were the ones I thought I blended the best. I shared this image as I like it but it does have some challenges. |

Phillipa, I like the feel of this image a lot. I had a similar reaction to Alan's. If you were to invert the mannequins and have their body as the reflection of the chess pieces that would create an interesting message |

Alan, Thanks. I like your suggestion about blurring the foreground. I had thought about adding more eyes to the tree but chose to leave it as it was as the whole inspiration for this image came from the naturally occurring "eyes" on the trees. |

Alan, Another strong image. I like the mystery of it and the variety of shapes and angles of the windows. I really like how you have the woman's long nails coming out of the window. |

Betty, An interesting photo. I wonder if you used the filter more selectively to create different dimensions (e.g. have the painterly effect behind the portal or in front of it). I do like the flow of the image. |

Aavo, I like this one. I do have a hard time believing the original 2 image is original, i.e. that orange sky is very intense. I like all the elements. The story is also very intriguing as it departs from the usual damsel in distress theme of that period. |

Thanks Phillipa. I tried to make it look believable at first but realized it was impossible. I guess I have to ask all my friends to view it on their phones. |
