I wanted to crop out the other bloom while leaving the pods. I try to include more that the main subject in all of my photos to add more interest. I am surprised that no one noticed the ant on the flower which showed another species relying on the flower for food. |

Wonderful capture of a beautiful bird. The overall image tells a nice story which I think is necessary in any really good photo. The only way to improve the image would be to bring up the light on the back as stated by Walter. |

I agree with Walter that the bright background detracts from the overall image but there was not a lot that you could do to change that. I edited the image by lightening the shadows 20 percent and increasing the contrast 10 percent. I think that this gives a more natural color to the horses. |

The finished image is excellent other than a possible decrease in noise. That would have made the image a little sharper. |

The overall photo is very good. The pelican does look a little soft. The thing that I would have done different is the water color. The original color looks a lot more natural to me. The finished photo looks almost like the bird is landing in mud. |
