Thanks Lisa and yes agree with opening up the aperture more to get more in focus...a good tip to know for Still Life. |

Welcome Jarrod! I like your creativity on this shot and being grainy to me it adds to the story creating an aged feel. My eye goes straight to the title so that works well. I might have just cropped slightly on the left but not too much. Nicely done. |

This image depicts a cozy afternoon playing chess on a winter's day so great atmospheric shot. To me the background is too light so would have darkened that/or added more contrast. I like Bunny's suggestion but would have liked to have included the chess pieces on the side also. What a great find to get his chess set looks as if it could tell a few stories! |

I like the different patterns of the leaves resting against the solid bark..adds great contrast. The light is perfect throughout so adds consistency to me and all those different colours reflect what a great time of year the Fall is. Nicely done. |

What a fun image and i can see these chicks come to life! You have captured their movement really well. The colours of the leaves compliment the neutrality of the chicks by adding a splash of colour. Only critique i have is what the others have said about a greater depth of field. Good to know that shooting at F16 for Still life is the way to go. |

A great story seeping from this image and a thoughtful one too. I like it just the way it is and the only comment i would have is to have a plain black background that Lisa suggested. I too am not a 'Still Life' specialist but i have learnt alot from you all. |

Wow the purse is amazing..how clever to create this! I am glad you posted the final image. I really like your workmanship and detail in the crochet with the hook telling the story. Lighting is perfect and the backdrop of the pink with the strong detail offsets nicely the white crochet purse in progress. To me i would crop out the writing and the ball of yarn as you have enough of a story in itself. |

Thanks for your comments. I did crop in quite alot but wanted to show the environment..i never know how much is relevant. I think you are right and i cropped in more which made a difference. Also to make the Gull stand out more darkening the background would be better. |

Wonderful image and so much to take in that it captures the moment. I love the early morning sky and acts as a perfect silhouette backdrop. Crop is great too. |

The flow of the image works really well with the Finch sitting on the curvy branch leading you up to the buds. The color of the buds compliments the bird and being slightly out of focus leads my eye straight to the Finch. Nicely posed. |

Amazing capture and agree with the others about the crop...prefer the original. Great detail in the chicks and the mother. A wonderful nature story unfurling here. Toning down the background would be an improvement. |

What a lovely image and to see the powerful wings in motion really captivates the scene. I like how the cranes were not all in a row creating a more interesting image. Great job. |

This is a great nature story all the elements you have captured tell this perfectly. For a high ISO Topaz-Denoise has done a great job. To me it looks as if there is another egg as Pamela has stated. My only observation is that it would be a better separation of the Heron in the back's beak with a twig but since you can't clone its not drastic and doesn't detract from this great image. |

I like the different shapes and colors of the tulip and to me the image has an abstract arty feel. You have captured the strong curve of the tulip stem on the left which to me is an image in itself. The top stamen is a bit distracting to me and would tone down the whiteness in the middle of the petals. An captivating image. |

Thanks Judith. There was alot of seaweed tangled in the rocks so that is the brown stuff. It was a very stormy day so am surprised the seagull stayed as still as he did! |
