Thanks Lee Ann..good to know that an action shot doesn't need to be sharp throughout. |

Thanks Joan i did have some other nice shots of the day but not of my panning technique. The Rodeo has lots of fun subjects to shoot. My shutter speed on this was 1/125 so not that fast but my ISO was quite high 1000. I focused my camera on the horse and the rider and moved with it! |

I like how you have captured the movement in this image and shows her intent to get somewhere. It tells a nice story adding the No.7 and the light and the shadows work well. Might have toned down the whites on the left hand side as to me a bit blown out still. I like Barbara's crop as to me it simplifies the image but everyone has their own perspective.... |

What a dazzling image..a real razzle dazzle for me with the use of the colors! The curves of the pinwheels add depth and holds your interest. I agree with Connie it would make a great background for another image. |

Creative and fun image..you feel Woody wanting to get away!
Nice detail in your dog and the light is perfect. Not sure about the carpet lighting as to me a bit of a distraction.
Nice fun image though. |

Thanks Carole and yes i was focused on the horse and rider as i was panning...No easy feat in the stands full of people and the horse going quite fast but took a few shots so i could practice to get what i wanted. |

This image conveys a hint of romance which you have nicely put together. The rose is my focus point and i liked your processing which enhances it against the pearls and the blue doily. I think it would be interesting to see a wider depth of field like Joan suggests but otherwise i think it all works well. |

That is a great image conveying simplicity and strength. I really like the angle and the fact that you captured the flag in motion as adds drama. The backdrop of the cloudy sky works well too and adds interest. Colours nicely muted too..nothing blown out. Nicely done and perfect for this month's assignment! |

Thanks Mike that sounds interesting so will try that. I agree the flower is a bit overpowering. |

I see a humanish body and a contorted goulish head...great for the imagination and the stories it could tell! The detail in the moss and the tangle of roots offers a background full of intrigue. I would love to know how this developed over time.. I like the bluish tinge at the bottom separating the water from the roots. A nice find even though you were hoping for wildlife. |

An amazing capture of this osprey in motion, really nice with the sense of intent i get from his flight. The colours of the nest compliment the Osprey and the background not distracting at all. Nicely focused throughout...great job from your Kayak! |

I like the simplicity of how you have processed this image and high in artistic content. An air of contentment i feel with this pelican. Great detail throughout and the black background makes a dramatic appeal. Nicely done. |

Great suggestion Judith thank you! Cropped down and darkened the background slightly and lightened the bee.. a better image. |

For me there are 2 images here... the original providing more depth with the rock formation included and you can see the outline more of the waterfall cascading down. And the cropped version which i agree with Sharon adds a more minimalist image and i think it would look terrific in Black & White. Both are a great composition for me. |

What a beautiful eye catching image...so unusual. The softness of the peony combined with some sharpness of the petals adds a nice detail. The capture of the insect, perfectly place, creates an almost fairytale quality to me.
Really well done..love it! |

Beautiful image of this Rubythroat and like the simplicity of how you have processed from the original. I too am doing alot of 'garden' photography and have the new R5 but have issues with noise so it was interesting to learn from you that you don't go above ISO3200. The colors of the Fushia flowers compliment the neck of the Hummingbird and even though some softness in the body it does not detract as the eye is tack sharp and his action is beautifully captured. Judith's idea of leaving a bit of a Fushia hue in the background sounds interesting. Lovely image. |
