Thanks Chane...it did rain alot when we were in that part of Tasmania but didn't deter me from going outside to get a few shots! |

Thanks Connie i will be using a smaller aperture in future to get more detail. I think your high filter has helped to bring out more detail in the droplet. |

Thanks Carole and will look at increasing the aperture and raising the Shutter Speed...That's a good point as i tend to handhold for my macro as i never know what i am going to find so like the freedom and flexibility that way. Good idea to move the Texture slider so will look at doing that |

This is gorgeous and my kind of image! I too love shooting flowers with my macro lens and i think it is ok to have a bit of blurriness instead of it being sharp thoughout as you say like a Flower catalog! I like how you have drawn us in to the centre of the flower with the soft circular pink petals. Very nicely done. Funnily enough i just submitted this image of a Mariposa Lily to my other Group (52). I took this with my Macro lens and wanted a 'dreamy' look so just pushed the Contrast & Clarity sliders to the left for this effect and added Saturation. Shot at 1/125 F3.5 ISO100 handheld. |

Preparation and planning worked well for this shot! I like your set up and the way you have composed the image with just the close up of the Hawk. Nice detail and colour in the feathers and added drama of the reflection in the eye. Nicely done. |

Lovely creation! I was just reading about natural window light and you have done a great job with the soft lighting. It really brings out the colours in an even way throughout. My eye goes directly to the blue flower so right to flip. |

Great complimenting colours of the pink and the yellow. I like the contrasting textures of sharpness and the blur of the petals. I think you have 2 images here as Chane states one cropping of the left to focus on the petals and the other as you have done adding the environment leaving the greenery. Very nicely done. |

This is a great capture of the crab as they are difficult to photograph before they retreat into their shell! I also love the detail in the rocks which are all so varied blending in with the crab. I like Lee Ann's crop as showcases more of the crab. Would be nice to shoot an image at eye level of the crab for the next time...easier said than done! |

I actually really like the orginal version with the full scene but i know that its not this month assignment! I like how you have chosen to get a closer focus on the water flow which is nicely done. However to me the image lacks a centre of interest. The rock appears soft closer up so more detail would be good. Perhaps cropping the rock from the right so to focus more on the water flow? |

Thanks Lee Ann and really like your background. I did try other backgrounds so i think your choice makes the petal and the tear stand out more. Perhaps i should have increased the aperture more to add more detail so will know for next time! Do you think F4 would do it or higher? |

Yes i was worried it would fall before i could take the shot! Good idea to see if i can make the petal stand out more by adding contrast and detail so will work on that thank you. |

Yes this lily is a native to Colorado. I like to shoot flowers with my macro lens so i can get close up and be artistic! Thanks for your suggestions on the tone curve and this helped tone down the background so your advice much appreciated as always. |

The heron looks alert emphasized by the movement in the leg..nice capture. I like the high key and the water ripples have just enough movement to add contrast. I also don't feel it necessary to flip the image i like the way it is. Might crop down on the sky a bit. Great for a note card or on the wall. |

Great inflight capture seeing the Harrier in full stretch with its feet. Might lighten the eye a bit and maybe to darken the background a bit more with your masking and adding a vignette to make the Harrier stand out more. I like Judith suggestion of keeping the foreground grass sharp. |

A hauntingly beautiful sunset and good for you for withstanding those 'no-seemums'! The colours work well against the starkness of the driftwood and nice reflection in the water. My only critique like the others have suggested is removing the driftwood on the right. |

Good job catching these pelicans in action. To me it would have been a stronger imager if you were closer in when you took this photo but maybe this was not possible. Tighter crop would be good to emphasize more of the Pelican. You could perhaps use the 'Subject' mask in LR to lighten up the face. |

This is a great image where symmetry works well. Yes i wouldn't have known either that this was an iphone photo. I love how the ripples in the water compliment the feathers of the geese and the spacing between them makes the composition balanced in contrast to the tilted horizon. Only improvement i see would be increasing the detail in the front bird's face. I like the final version for me as the colours blend together really well. |

What a very fancy bird! I am drawn to the layers of the feathers showcasing the sharpness of its face and the colours are so vivid. Is this a male or female Egret? Think it is a wonderful composition although i might have just cropped in a bit from the right to hide some of that small plant. I agree with Judith in seeing it is resting its chin on its hand! I too like the final version and what you did to the background..really nice. |
