Well this certainly tells a story and obviously created a memorable meal (with alarm bells!) for your New Year! I like the set up with the festive background and good depth of field. The plate looked delicious and realistic...good job! |

This looks delicious and i really like the composition with plate and the vibrant vegetables. I like how you have got as close as possible...amazing what the new iphone can do! The only negative for me is the white blur (or glistening as the others say) in the middle. I may have toned this down a bit. Am sure it was a delicious meal! |

Yes Connie i did think about cropping out the white board but thought the 2 chocolates were part of the story! Will look at darkening the background a bit with a brush in LR. Thanks! |

It almost looks as if the Orchid is coming straight at you..intriguing composition with to me an abstract quality. How did you do the Radial Blur filter...is that is Photoshop?? It works really well. I will have to look more closely at Orchids to see if i can see the 'little smiling creature'in others! |

It certainly tells a story and must have been with now only half left! The crust is the winner and love the detail...perhaps to have top of the spoon included in the frame would complete it for me. Nice even light throughout so good job. |

I can smell them from here...delicious! I like the composition and for me if the front 3 cookies were a bit more in focus that would be perfect. My eye is drawn to the bright light in the front and the side so perhaps more of a vignette would help tone it down. Otherwise i like the composition and the diagnol lines of the rack. |

I love roses too and this image invokes memories of my parents garden in England...the blooms always smelled divine! It is a perfectly formed Rose you have captured and the focus is uniform thoughtout. I like the softness of the petals and the light is perfect. To me my eye goes to the green in the background but not sure how you could blur that out? I would have taken a few steps to the left to see if i could eliminate it.. Lovely composition though. |

Thanks Judith and agree with you about doing a wider shot and a higher Fstop. I shot it at F4.5, ISO 100, 1/200 sec with a 24-70mm lens. Might have been good also with my Macro lens. |

To me this is a great shot and really like it and prefer it how it is to the cropped version. In my opinion i like to see this wonderful bird and not sure whether you had room at the top to give me more! The detail in the face and the beak is wonderful and you have captured the leaves perfectly and the color to me offsets the white of the feathers. Very nice. |

It is nice to be surprised on what you can find when you are out....an amazing vulture. In this instance i would probably crop the top and dehaze a bit to lessen the sky but really its the light and agree with LC to visit again when the sun is behind you to enhance the feathers and lessen the noise. Black & white might be an option? |

Certainly an interesting image of which i don't see many of...bats! Not an easy task to photograph these by the sounds of things so kudos to you for your originality and patience.
For me i prefer a more simplistic image...this has got alot going on which you have captured well but i am in agreement with Sharon about focusing on just the 2 bats leaning out and taking out a bit of the foliage. You have done a good job with the light on them. |

This is a beautiful lotus and i like how the petals softly fall outwards. Great colour too without being overdone with your Curves tool. I agree with Mike about a slight crop off the top to give the Lotus more focus. Nice image. |

I really like the action of the birds..some have their beaks open and you can almost hear the commotion! I like the simplicity of the image and the crop. Good detail in the swans. I wonder what it would look like in Black & White? |

What a lovely vista and has everything in it for me! Nice foreground and sharp detail on the horizon. Colours blend really well with the sky completing the scene. The tree is interesting and i do slightly agree with Mike about the cropping off of the left hand side of the tree. For me I think this will score well in competition so let us know! I wonder what it would have looked like Vertical as well if that tree wasn't too big to put in the frame? |
