Certainly that expression of keeping all your ducks in a row comes to mind with this one! I like the pano crop you have used to portray this family. The colouring of the ducks against the green grass works really well. Glad you had your camera out..i always do too as you never know what is going to come across your back yard! |

I like the title as it describes the image well. a lovely soft white conjuring up a tranquil setting. Great background bokeh. I find my eye goes to the lace edging and for me thats a bit distracting so if it were me i might look at cropping that out but that's just my perspective. A nice image for a tablet decoration. |

A great perspective on this shot and nice that you have captured the reflection too. I am with Kerstin on this as i have a fear of heights though only in hot air balloons so good job capturing this! Nice soft lighting and the curves on the land below sync well with the roundness of the balloon. |

It is very appealing to look at...a softness and simplicity about the Hosta Bud. I like the diagnol lines of the bud and how it interacts with the leaf in the background. To me the blackness on the bottom left is a bit distracting but think if you cropped it slightly it might lose the lovely effect you have with the diagnol stem. |

Very peaceful scene and the warm colours of the sky reflecting in the water add to the tranquillity. You did well to capture this before being eaten alive! For me i would have cropped off a bit on the right as this area is too dark. Agree with Carole about lighting up the sky a bit more although maybe between the 2?...it is very subjective. Good shot though. |

Hi Carole
Love the way you have composed this at eye level giving a sense of perspective and nice that the bird waited for you to do so!
Good detail and sharpness in the feathers and the eye and glad you toned down the red bit in the background on the left. Would have perhaps cut out the top end of the branch that he is clinging to as it looks to me as if it is coming out of his head. Little vignette around the bird would be good to draw attention to it. Compositionally i think it looks fine the way you have centered it. |

Yes i like both yours and Kerstin's crops although prefer your slightly more so i can see the tops of the other head. Thank you both for your critiques...shot this on AV priority and didn't really have much time to adjust my settings! |

Amazing transformation with your post processing... i am the least user friendly in post so kudos to you! It is a lovely image of Snowy...The background gives it a warmth and attracts you to the eyes and they are perfect after your replacement. The brightness of the sun doesn't bother me and i feel the same sentiment as you. Just watched the NIK video that Sharon suggested...very interesting as i use Color Efex Pro quite a bit. Always good to learn! |

I really like this image...the colours are terrific and it has a mystical quality about it. I like the way the two leaves are branching off in two directions and the way you have positioned them. You have done a good job of making the leaves stand out against the bokeh affect of the background. Only suggestion is what Pamela has said about slight cropping to removed the leaf tip on the left and a bit of the branch on the right. Very striking image. |

A great pose of the Canada goose with good tack sharp eye detail. You have done an amazing job in post versus the original to bring this up to an intriguing image. Wonderful reflection on the water. In post i sometimes use ColorEfex pro and the 'Detail Extractor' slider which could bring out the detail in the feathers a bit more. Lovely image. |

What a great scene and since it is in my backyard it is a true depiction of what it was like this Fall. It really is a wonderful time of year to be in Colorado. Your colours just pop and i like the variety of the trees with the harsh background of the mountains. I think i would just crop off a top of the sky as to me its less interesting and you have great colour to focus on with the trees. Always good to get caught up in the moment! |

Thanks Mike and hadn't thought of doing the vertical crop like you and Lisa suggest. I like it. Did think also that the red flower in the back was a bit distracting but also gave it a bit of background...a toss up! |

What a great capture and like the title...definitely an acrobat! The fanned out detail in the feathers are wonderful. The colours on its throat and chest compliment the background. I love photographing our hummingbirds in Colorado so it is quite an art to perfect and you have done a great job with this one. Not sure if it is just me or my computer but the head could be sharper but perhaps on yours it is. Will look out for Moose's video for next summer's attempt! |
