Thanks Judith. Used Auto focus so i was lucky. The Canon lens has an image stabliser so that contributes alot to my hand held shots! |

Crystal Mill is a bit of an icon for us Coloradians! Have seen many different version of this wonderful Mill but have never visited even though it is just an hour away so will have to make a trip. There are so many lovely vistas here in Colorado to choose from. I like your version alot and there is something of the 'Wild West' it portrays to me! The lighting in the original looks a bit harsh to me but you have good detail in the Mill with the wood. I like how you have softened and warmed the colours of the trees although probably slightly a bit too much orange for. I may also have cropped a bit off the right to hide the small plant on the bottom and that way to give more focus to the mill. Great shot and looks like a painting! |

Spring always holds promise and this image is delightful in portraying the new bud of the Peony. I like the way you have angled the shot and got nice and close so that we can see the detail in the beautiful bud. Nice warm colours for the background that compliment the flower. To me the front of the bud seems very slightly a bit blown out so perhaps i would have toned down that bit in post. Interesting comment that Sharon made about the diagonal on the stem. |

Well at least you have a lovely lush backyard for birds to enjoy too! What title would you choose for this? I always find a title help me focus on what i want to portray. This woodpecker is lovely and great job capturing this one. We have lots of woodpeckers here in Florida but all rather elusive! I like how the light is filtering through the feathers at the top. I may have toned down the background a bit but otherwise a really nice capture. |

I love poppies and you have captured the rich colours of them really well. The larger one could even be a stand alone image to me. Nice even lighting and detail. |

Hi Mike
Thanks for your welcome and helpful suggestions. Tried the vignette and that worked well and helped reduce the luminosity of the leaves on the lower right corner. Will work on giving the grasshopper more space! |

What a peaceful and tranquil scene! You have captured the sky and landscape perfectly...gorgeous colour of the sky blending in nicely with the yellow of the canola. I may have cropped out some of the trees to the right and focus just on the one cluster of trees to give it a cleaner look and maybe make the yellow canola a bit brighter.
Otherwise to me this is lovely and certainly an image i linger over. |

What a wonderful flower..i love the vibrancy! Great focus and nice sharpness on the 2 nearest flowers. I like the arrangement too with the other buds waiting to bloom. Good cropping to focus on the flower ad great that you did minimal processing to get this shot. I am a purist too and try to get it right in camera! To me i may have made the background a bit more blurred so stopped down a bit perhaps on the aperture or made it slightly darker in post. |
