A great image depicting a truly abandoned building! I like the way the foliage has grown up around the building. You can feel the oppressive nature of the surroundings...hot & sticky to me with lots of bugs! Like both the colour and black and white image...both very different views. It tells a story. |

It feels deserted so you have captured the moment (apart from the red car which i agree with Carole to be cropped to add more emphasis to the building). Nice light on the buildings too. |

Very interesting image and looked at it a while to try and figure what the building was before i read your description...thought it may have been a temple of some sort. Unusual and a bit of history behind it. Each tower is interesting to look at with nice detailing in the brick work. Better with the horizontal adjustment that Carole did. |

You have captured the feel of this abandoned farmhouse and even the trees behind look dead and sad. Good use of light and shadows contouring the building which emphasizes the state of disrepair. The grass and weeds growing up the side of the railings make it even more forlorn looking. Yes i like the field behind continuing to yield a harvest in the midst of ruin. |

It certainly tells a story...would be great if one of the weeds was a tomato plant! It does have an air of abandonment with the weeds growing and their shadows leading you to the sign. Nice use of light too and the reflection in the windows adds to the image. I wonder whether it would enhance it more if it was just the signage reflection? Maybe change the angle but not sure if you could. |
