Thanks for you comments LuAnn. I guess it is street photography. The bearded man watching the move was my main point of interest in the photo. I was also interested in what was going on with the family with the young boy playing in the part I cropped. I liked you comment about the glowing finger. Maybe it would have made a better title for the photo? |

Thanks for the suggestion Pandula. Toning down the hair could make it less distracting. |

Great subject; nicely cropped to maximize the effect. I really like the way leading line of the unfocused horn draws the eye into the sharpness of the subjects face. The removal of distractions in the background works well. You might want to consider catch light in the eyes along with a tiny increase in contrast, but the photo works perfectly as is. Nice job. |

Your photo has a wonderful surreal effect. The juxtaposition of the smooth clouds and water with the shape reed and tree outlines adds interest and pop to the photo. Too bad you could get the moon to stand out a bit more. I really like the cloud reflections in the water too. Very serene. A nice mood piece. |

Your photo tells a nice story. Your captured some great facial expressions. I think you did a great job of reducing the shadows. Unfortunately, in the process of compensation for the dark shadows and burned out sky, the photo looks a little flat Because there is almost no detail in the sky, this would have been a good candidate for a sky replacement |

You've managed to capture your subjects in a very natural and relaxed pose. I enjoy the interaction that is going on between the couple. Monochrome makes the subjects stand out better than in the original. A key point of interest is the man's gaze. I wonder if increasing the contract in his eyes just a little would make for a stronger image. Playing around with the eyes is always tricky and can be disastrous so care must be taken not to over do it. A great capture! |

Beautiful detail in this nicely composed shot. To my mind, there is something symbolic of hope and waiting represented by a mail box. The overall mood is quiet peaceful and calm. A stronger road and puddle may have distracted from the main subject |

Thanks for your comments and suggestions Oliver. The stuff at the top is a bit distracting. Maybe if I make a print I will clone some of it out. Your point about seeing the potential in a photo is an important consideration. I believe that what the camera captures can not include everything the photographer experiences. This is a good reason not to discard photos until you have given yourself the chance to see everything that is there. |
