When looking at your turtle as a small image I think he looks pretty good, but when you enlarge him, he does look a little soft. To me, the area over his right shoulder seems sharpest. The metadata on your image shows you shot it at ISO 100, f7.1 at 1/125th, so I would think 1/125th would be fast enough to freeze the turtle's movement. I suspect the turtle's face is on the outer limit of the depth of field and that is why it is a little soft. Although not always successful, I try to focus on the eye when shooting. If the eye is sharp people typically don't notice or aren't bothered by softness of the body or other parts. |

One of the places on my bucketlist. I like how you framed the falls with the tree limbs. I agree with David on the focus issue. |

I had the opportunity to visit the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary about two years ago and got some nice images there. A nice capture of a beautifl bird. His coloring and patterns sure give him some great camouflage. I like how you placed the bird in the image and how he is framed by the surrounding trees and how you removed some of the distracting twigs. Nice job. |

A great subject and very nice image. I really like how you got down on the sea turtle's level to capture this image and how you positioned it in the frame and the details, colors and textures of the turtle and foreground sand.
Did you give any consideration to a different crop? I think this would make a great banner photo if cropped in more of a panoramic format. Here is what I'm thinking. What are your thoughts? |

Thanks for your feedback. I wanted a more dramatic sky and I like what you have done to it. When I did my edit, I played around with the saturation on the orange leaves and settled where I did as I did not want to get over saturated. |
