Thanks for your comments. I agree the leaves you referenced are too bright and I should have done something with them to tone them down more. |

Nice catch. To me, the bird appears sharp and it looks like he is ready to catch his next meal.
Did you give any consideration to a closer crop and a vignette? I think that might eliminate some of the extraneous leaves and help direct attention more immediately to the bird. I've attached an edit to show what I mean. |

I have not had the opportunity to visit Yellowstone, but I can only imagine the Mammoth Hot Springs must be spectacular. I agree that the mist really reduces the contrast and I too like the colors of the second original image.
I find the light strip across the top of the image to be distracting. I played around with the image, adjusted the crop to remove the strip across the top, added some contrast and made spot adjustments to areas around the falls to reduce some of the haze, made some sharpness adjustments and increased color saturation. As I have not been there, I don't know how true of an image I created and it may not represent what you wanted to capture. Here is my edit, let me know your thoughts. |

I too find like the colors of the sunset very nice. Was there something specific you were trying to capture in this photo?
I like the way Janice and David cropped the image to place more emphasis on the pelican. |

Thanks for the feedback. I do wish I had shot it at f4. |

Thanks for the feedback Janice. I was a little torn about the leaf sticking out by the tail but decided to leave it, although I did darken in some. Perhaps I will play around a little and see what it is like if removed. |

Thanks for your feedback. In retrospect, I wish I'd shot this at f4 instead of f6.3 to blur the background more. I agree with you that the diagonal stem is too sharp and it as well as the vertical stem on the left center are both a little distracting. |

Welcome to our group David. I like the exposure, depth of field, color, textures and crop. I think the name you gave this image says it all.
Was this handheld or on a tripod?
What is the "V" shaped shadow at about 7:30? Unlike the bee's shadow above it which is expected, I find it a little distracting because I can't tell what it is. Have you given any consideration to removing it?
Overall, I think this is a very pleasing photo. |

I always enjoy sunflowers and think a yellow sunflower against a bright blue sky is a timeless image. I like the colors. sharpness, and texture of your image. Was there something in particular you wanted to convey with it?
For my taste, I find the leaves at the bottom of the frame distracting because they are too sharp and bright. Did you give any consideration to adjusting the crop slightly to reduce the presence of the leaves? I think a slight vignette might also help to darken the leaves and help isolate the sunflower against the blue sky. I made an edit to show what I mean. During the edit, I also removed three small spots on the petals at about 4 o'clock.
