Cardinals are one of my favorite birds. I like the way you captured the tilt of his head. I liked the vertical crop you used on the original more than the horizontal crop of the final image. I also think a closer crop would strengthen the composition. I have attached my version of a vertical crop with a slight vignette added. |

This image tells a nice story, hot summer, thirsty bird, leaky faucet. In my opinion, the main subjects appear soft. I think the composition could be strengthened by using a vertical vs horizontal crop. I cropped a version as an example of what I mean. |

A very interesting image with a great story. I like how you used the diagonals created by the fishing gear, the curved shore lines and the sharp points of the mountains to compose the image. I like how the sun highlights the one boat. My only suggestion would be to crop the bottom slightly to eliminate what looks like a cut off buoy along the left bottom (just above and left of the J in January). Overall, I think it is a very nice image. |

When I first saw this image, I thought it was an ocean beach scene until I saw the title and looked again. It is an interesting subject and I like the leading lines, texture and shapes you captured. I agree that the right corner is a little dark and the grass in the upper right is a little soft. You may consider trying to re-crop to eliminate the black spot on the left side. |

Great capture! He looks like he is ready to pounce on his next meal. I love the colors and details you captured. The image is sharp with a good depth of field.I agree that the highlights could be toned down slightly. Overall, I think this is a very nice image.
