Thanks Thom. Not certain what caused the condition on the ears, but the Opossum Society of America (who knew?) says "The crispy edges can indicate frostbite, a local, topical bacterial infection or a fungal infection." |

Thanks PJ. I felt this image makes the possum, which most consider an ugly nuisance, a cuddly critter.

Thanks for the feedback. I considered trying to remove the branch, but ultimately decided to leave it as it was part of his/her environment. |

I find this a very pleasing, colorful image with a nice crop. |

Nice shot-I like the lighting on the horse and the texture captured, the illumination of his left eye and the expression conveyed by his eyes. He seems to be enjoying a well deserved break.
I find the highlight on the rim of the tub slightly distracting and think it could be burnt in a little. |

This must be an amazing sight to see this many geese take off at once! I find this a very interesting abstract. I like the blur that allows some of the geese shapes to be identifiable. For my taste the color seems a little muddy. I wonder how it would look in black & white? |

I like this peaceful, calming, spring scene and the blue and purple flowers.
In my opinion the depth of field is too shallow. I think the image could have been strengthened by cropping out the trees in the background and by concentrating just on the blue bell flowers. Here is an edit showing what I mean. |

It is a nice identification image of a Canada goose. To me, the image appears sharp, well lit, and shows great detail in the feathers, water droplets, and has a nice catch light in the eye. I find the colors pleasing and natural.
Somethings to consider in the future might be to shoot from a lower point of view and position the subject so he has more room in front.

Charlie, After re-reading your post, I guess what I cropped out wasn't what you were talking about, but I like this crop better. What you're referencing must be a stick, twig or something similar in front of the possum. I tried to remove using healing brush and cloning tool in PS, but I didn't like the results, so I just burnt it down a little along with the corners. I personally like the second image the best. |

You're right Charlie, those are pine bows from trees behind him and they are distracting. I changed the crop to square format to eliminate them. Here is my new version. |
