Charlie & Kerry - Based on your feedback I've tried to lighten up the shadows on the trees on the left and also worked on the grass as well. Here is my second attempt. |

I like the focus, texture, sharpness of the image, depth of field and composition. I agree with Janice that the subject would have benefited from additional exposure. |

I think the back lighting does an excellent job of highlighting the texture of the mane, chin and back. I think a 2x1 crop would have strengthened the composition by eliminating some of the background and foreground and focused all attention on the main subject. I have attached an edited image to show what I mean. |

I find this a great scene with an interesting story. I like the lighting and how you framed the scene with the trees. I think you accomplished your objective. |

I like the colors and textures of this scene and how you eliminated the hot spot in the upper left. In my opinion, there are a few limbs left over from the removed branch that should have also been taken out because in their current state they seem to be floating. I've attached an edit to show the ones I'm referring to. |

I think this image is well exposed, with nice lighting that brings out the texture in the fur and snow. I also like the shallow depth of field that blurs the background. I do find the shadow in the upper right hand corner distracting. I agree that by moving the subject out of the center of the image would strengthen the composition. |

I find this to be a nice winter scene. I would have liked to have seen more space around the tree so we could have seen the flowing limbs in their entirety. I also agree with Janice that an adjustment of the whites might bring out some additional detail and texture. |

Thanks for the feedback Janice and I've made some changes based on your comments. Using Lightroom graduated filter I've tried to tone the blue shadows down on the mountains. I then used the radial filter and opened the shadows up a little on the trees in the background on the left. Do you think it helped it any? |
