You have picked a very colorful, expressive subject, in no doubt a very energetic and dynamic street environment! However, to me, what is communicated in this photograph, though I'm sure unintended, is an unfair representation of this Afro-Cuban female. Getting her permission or changing your perspective, I believe, would have made a big difference! |

Very nice portrait! Your interaction with folks definitely comes out in your photographs and helps the subjects relax. The photograph has a lot of detail, especially in the eyes, and it looks like a very natural pose. I feel the photo in black and white helps to bring out the subject's facial features and underlying story! |

To me, being devoid of human activity makes me feel anticipation, either getting ready for a big party, the aftermath of one, or sadness if this neighborhood watering hole is for sale! The angle of your perspective helps to show depth, and I like adding the triangle of sky that repeats in the building, the awning and even in the beer kegs. It's clean, sharp and well exposed. Nice shot! |

For me, the photo works very well in black and white, and you captured the quality of the light and the contrast between the outside of the building and the light filtering into the dark corridor very well. I, too, like the arches at the end of the building and perhaps would have liked to have seen more of the windows on the left that would mirror the same shape. I enjoy the person walking through but would like to have seen the person's whole body. |

To me, I think the color version works well, the matching aqua colors in the children's clothing and their soft, y hair stands out as the focal point of the photo. The use of the walls as a frame as well as your point of view, looking into the action from behind the children gives the photo a unique perspective. You definitely captured the photographer at the exact moment that she undoubtedly captured a fantastic photo as well! |
