I like the composition with the waterfall just emerging into the image at the top and then flowing out of the image. To compensate for the bright spot, you could under expose the image and blend in PS. I really like the exposure of the rocks and the detail displayed. I struggle with the large leaves on the left - it changes the sense of the size of the waterfall to my eye making it seem like it might have been three feet high. Just me.

I like the way the foreground and mountains frame the beach. The saturation appears natural. I would suggest maybe cropping down from the top a bit to eliminate some of the blue sky and up from the bottom slightly too or darken the bright grasses on the bottom which draw my eye first. |

Great choice to flip the image. Without the color of the leaves, it would just be another waterfall shot, so well seen. I like the shutter speed option which provided some smoothness but the structure of the rock in the waterfall provided the textural interest. |

Great story and kudos for the fortitude to take this image. I lost two lenses and a cell phone sliding down rocks into 4ft of a cold Vermont stream so I know the feeling. I like the fall color and agree with Larry about the brightness of the rock on the right, but would play with the composition. One way would be to crop down from the top and right to let the falls flow more directionally into the water. It would help to have a bit more of the stream at the bottom. I know that may unbalance the image with some crops. |
