I differ a bit from the others. To me, this is a beginning of a story of a location. The red tent does need to be eliminated and enough of the structure shown to give more of a sense of place, but the story seems to be the location, elements and time of day. On my monitor, the image has a magenta tint overall.

What blue? I have a new uncalibrated monitor so it may be off. Great composition and choice of shutter speed. Somehow you managed to give the sense of detail in the falls but have the streaks of the water flow. Like Larry, I would like to see some hint of detail in the blacks in the image, but I do like the tonal contrast overall. I might consider slightly darkening the rock triangle on the lower right to keep my eye on the water subject. |

A well composed image. Enough of the path is shown in the foreground to welcome the viewer into the scene. The DOF appears more than f6.3 with enough detail for my eye to follow the path into the meadow. Good separation of the post on the right from the tree line. There is enough space on the left post to separate it to my eye from the tree line. Nice processing on the clouds. Bear jams can be frustrating with people trying to photograph bears 200 yards away with their cell phones. |

The image also looks sharp to me. I like the composition except I agree with Larry that I would crop up a bit from the bottom to reinforce the subject of the trees and cliffs. It does appear a bit flat to me so using the tone curve to add more contrast and maybe bringing the white and black sliders to add tonal contrast would help. It would also help to separate the front tree on the right from the background. Yes, I do get a royalty on cropping....

I love foggy images, and this is one of those. I like the trees poking through the fog and have mixed feelings about the crop. To me, the diagonal line of the trees on the right at energy to the image while the two trees on the left are static. However, they help create the whole story so I am ok with the crop. Only having the trees on the right seems a bit constrained to me, but I would consider cropping up just slightly from the bottom of the original image. Just me, but I would remove the bright white branch in front of the tree on the right. It attracts me eye first. |
