36 Jul 23 Comment Thanks for the comments. I did do a linear gradient from the bottom and a vignette, but I like to keep the image looking natural. I will try the suggestions though. Fresh eyes are better than mine. Jul 23rd
36 Jul 23 Comment I look forward to seeing more drone shots in the future. This one works very well. For my eye, I like the road because it and the lake lead to a vanishing point in the distance, an effective compositional technique. I think cropping down from the sky and up from the bottom were good choices to keep the subject as the lake. Jul 16th
36 Jul 23 Comment I think you have great DOF and compositionally it was good to include a foreground. At the risk of sounding too critical I would have the following considerations: I agree with Larry about separating the grasses from the cliffs; it would be good to have more of the lake visible. Maybe use a polarizer to avoid the white reflection of the water and maybe even pick up reflections of the clouds and cliffs. Including people does not bother me since it gives a sense of scale, but all the red clothing is distracting; I would change the color. Finally, there is a bright white spot in the clouds which draws my eye. I would try to darken that or even clone over it. Sorry to have so many suggestions. I think you had a good idea. Jul 16th
36 Jul 23 Comment I looked at your image and started to compose my thoughts. Then I read Larry's remarks. Ditto. My first thought was WOW and then a science fiction beast was my next thought. You did an outstanding job of post processing. Compositionally and technically, it is well done. I was recently at an art fair, and indeed this printed large on metal would be a best seller. Jul 16th
36 Jul 23 Comment Moody, well composed, good separation from the rocks and line of the sea, pleasing color palette, strong diagonal line of the sand, triangular shape of the beach and rocks - all work together to make a well done image in my eyes. Maybe what Larry is saying if you lowered your camera from eye level you might have a more interesting image with the wide angle you used. That would be my only suggestion. Jul 16th
36 Jul 23 Comment Great use of complementary colors. I like the choice of shutter speed which shows movement but still retains the structure of the clouds. It appears maybe some cars moved through the scene as well which adds to the story. I also like you chose to include the electric lines and light poles; that adds a lot of interest to me which makes the image different. Nicely seen Jul 2nd
36 Jul 23 Comment This is well composed for me, except as you mention the top of the dark rocks meet the top of the horizon. I like the energy of the diagonal line of the lighter rocks and the triangle form within the rocks. I like the really warm colors of the rocks and sea. I wonder if the sky would have more impact if it were taken at a faster exposure and blended in? Do you use the feature in PhotoPills to set exposure for ND filters? Jul 2nd
