Great exposure and sharpness for a handheld image. Well done. I like the color temperature and agree with Larry about cropping. To my eye, the white lights of the cars are overwhelming. Just me obviously but a couple of options I would have considered would be to have a longer exposure so the while lights would be less glaring and migrate through the scene or to just focus on red tail lights. Again just me. |

I am a bit late in my comments. I mostly agree with the other suggestions about the sky, but I have been dinged in competition for making a sky too dark. Go figure. It is artist's (and judges) choice. Compositionally I think Larry's suggestion about raising the camera height would work with the trees, but I suspect you would have to get on a ladder to do so, channeling your inner Ansel Adams. As is, it is good you did not have the top of the trees intersecting with the bottom of the far tree line. One tweak may be to darken or delete the bright white pole in the bottom right of the image. |

Yes, the two white spots on the bottom right. Just to be picky.... |

I think this image is a perfect example of what a symmetrical image should be. You were fortunate to capture a still lake. It is difficult to do a hand held pano with a straight horizon; you seemed to have managed that well. The triangular darker shapes at each end of the image keep my eye in the center of the frame. I would consider a very small crop off the top and bottom. Overall, very well done |

For me the long exposure is very effective. It provides movement of the clouds and ghosting effects of people. The lady standing still adds interest and depth to the image. Shooting this offset is an artistic choice. A suggestion is to darken the white clothing on the bottom right; my eye is drawn there. |

For me this is an excellent composition. The vanishing point perspective of the bridge dominates the bottom part of the image, but the street light balances the whole composition and adds a lot of interest. I agree with Larry that B/W was the correct choice for this image. |

I think you successfully accomplished all the objectives you had in taking this shot. Well done. I really like shots with fog, and you got it. Timing was perfect. To my eye, the brightness of the sunlit reeds on the left balance the shaft of sunlight on the right, keep my eye from leaving the image and provide energy with the diagonal line. The reflection of the trees in the quiet water enhance the image as well. |

The majority of people ask: "what and where is the Palouse"? A few photographers know it as a bucket list place to go. It is roughly 4,000 sq miles in northeastern Washington State and is one of the largest wheat and legume growing areas in the US. The green is either wheat or barley. It is the largest grower of canola which has yellow heads in June. There are no flat spots. The land looks like sand dunes and consists of silt blown into the area over eons. |
