This image has impact for me. I agree with the comments Larry made on lighting. The "prospecting supplies" wording almost looks neon-like to me. The whole building looks on my screen looks like it is leaning left. I checked it with a paper and indeed it is. I would consider making the whole structure straight. I would consider cropping or darkening more the structure on the right. Well seen and good processing steps. |

This to me is well seen and well composed. I like the overall DOF but wish two of the heads on the right were a bit sharper. That would make a line of sharp heads across the image which lets my eye flow a little better. The dark background makes the heads pop out. |

Kindness works. Great story. There are places like this is Louisiana as well, a bit easier to photograph. I like the composition. As Arne indicated, the light strikes appear to be distracting and for my eye, too saturated. I would consider removing the lines from the road but leave the highlights in the trees. |

Thoughtfulness in preparation and excellent post processing leads to a well-done image. The birds certainly add to the image. Good choice of shutterspeed to capture them sharply. I like the amount of sky you included because that gives the birds room. The camera height was such that the pier did not intersect the water horizon line so again, good placement.
