I like the warm color palette and the strong directional light. The backlighting of the brush in the middle reinforces the effect of the light. The serendipitous fog adds interest and another place for the eye to go. I think you could bring out some highlights from the bush on the bottom right to add more contrast and texture. For me, the crop is fine. |

It is amazing you were able to catch a sharp image at night of the Ferris wheel. All the color really pulls my eye right to the wheel. I agree with Larry's suggestion to crop in from the left and bring out some detail in the pier. I am ok with the amount of the image in the bottom although it does create a 50/50 effect with the buildings on the centerline of the image. Optionally I would consider trying to bring out more color in the reflection or see what the image would look like with a stronger crop up from the bottom. |

I would say your GFX 50S is a wow. Your cropping works for me, cutting down some of the sky. The image gives a sense of place and the composition leads my eye through the image, but the darker buildings at the ends stops my eye short and the light buildings in the middle keep it in the image. My only suggestion is to darken the bright orange rail on the bottom right next to the boat |

The exposure in both adds a sense of darkness which works effectively for me in providing a story about the location. It feels almost like a forbidden location. Shutter speed for water is a personal preference. Overall I would have to take your second image. However, the foreground seems really cluttered to me and the branch visible over the white water forms a real distraction to my eye. In the thumbnail image, I think it would have been better to have a bit more image above the falls. The bottom half of the image works fine for me. |

Good choice to go out and capture a non-traditional sunrise image. I concur with Larry about the effectiveness of the curved line of the tide pool adding interest and leading the eye through the image. The color palette to my eye is spot on. I like the directional light from the emerging sun and just a hint of detail in the rock. The little ripples in the near sand also add interest. If it were my image, I would consider healing out the black line on the left; because of the contrast it becomes a distraction to my eye. Well seen and captured image. |
