I really like the color in this image, the layers of bushes/trees and the reflections in the water. I think you did a great job on managing the exposure with only the sun itself blown out. I also like where you placed the sun - it adds more energy to the image because it forces the eye to go from the sun to the water and then follow the water across the image. I prefer what you did to keep the bottom and right side of the image darker. Very well seen |

I wondered if others would pick up on the incomplete rock formation which is one of the reasons I posted this image. I agree with your observation. |

As one of my friends observed about another photographer in our group - we were there, why didn't we see that. I was there last September and didn't see this. I really like this image. It appears to me the exposure, DOF and sharpness are right on. You included an odd number of floats, supposedly more pleasing to the eye, and the downward sloping of the netting adds energy. To me, the dark background is perfect. Well done.I wouldn't change a thing - except regret I didn't take this when I was there. |

I really like the composition of this image with the balance of lights and shadows bringing out the textures, how the sides of the canyon merge together and the inclusion of just the right amount of sky and clouds. It is amazing you got the shot this sharp while flying. I might see if I could pull a little more detail out of the shadow area in the foreground but maybe the digital file is not doing it justice. |

I think you have done a great job capturing the environment, including the terrain, house and barns and livestock. To my eyes, it appears appropriately sharp and exposed. I might consider, and maybe this is what Arne was getting at, adding a little more contrast/clarity to the image. My cropping preference would be to take some off the bottom which does not appear to have much of interest. |

Nice timing. I like the way the remnant of an old road and fence provide a leading line to the shed and how the fog makes this a subtle composition. Would I consider anything different? Maybe adding a bit more fog effect to the background past the shed. |

I like the collection of colors with the yellow/orange, green and blue complimenting each other. It appears you left the right amount of sky in to create a colorful composition. I know you are about realism, but for me, I find the white ends of the grasses sticking into the sky a bit distracting so might have cloned them out or changed my position. I would also consider moving the dark clump in the middle a bit to the left to add some tension to the image. Nice place to be.
Darn it Arne, I grew up on a farm too and now you have me thinking procreation. |
