Hi Don,
To me, the bird looks oversharpened and doesn't stand out enough from the dark background. |

Interesting subject. I agree that the middle could be brighter, my eye keeps going to the bottom of the image because its brightest and has the most contrast. It doesn't appear quite level. The pole in the center is tilted slightly to the right. |

A few suggestions - crop in especially from the left to put more focus on the marlin. Also, for me, the object which I assume is part of the fishing gear, is a distraction. Depending on your preference, you could clone it out or leave it in. |

Good job isolating subject from background. |

Disruptive indeed. No significant suggestions except maybe crop down from the top a bit between the two wall hangings. |

The most interesting part of the image is the wheels, plumbing and steam release. I'd consider cropping down from the top to just below the numbers, and in from the right to eliminate the second wheel to keep the focus on those elements. |

Well Done! I love how the arch of the tree directs your eye to the milky way. |

Its a little like a finder scope for a telescope. It helps you get the target in the frame. I have the Olympus ee-1, but it fits in the hot shoe and works with any camera. |
